Rena raised an eyebrow at the Weedle. "Okay then...Shadowfang, use Gust!" she said. Shadowfang nodded and wipped up a funnel of wind that headed towards the Weedle.

The weedle, caught off guard glared menacingly at it's attacker. It fired a sticky stringshot as it tackled Shadowfang to the ground! |

Shadowfang growled as he hit the ground. He got up and shook his head. "Now use Bite!" Rena said. Shadowfang growled and ran at the Weedle with his mouth open.

The weedle for some reason decided to be daring and launched it's attack in the houndour's open mouth! It speared houndour's tonsils with it's horn as houndour bit down on the weedle!
Houndour's attack wasn't very effective as the weedle slithered out from it's mouth. |

Darkness howled in pain and jumped away from the Weedle. He coughed and hissed in anger and more pain. Rena bit her lip. "C'mon Darkness! Use Leer and then Ember!" she said. Darkness shot a look at the Weedle and then shot a flurry of flames at it.

As the houndour leered at it, the weedle used string shot! When the houndour used ember, it only caught fire to the net-like stringshot! Bits of ember singed the weedle. Likewise bits of string shot stuck to houndour's fur and paws, making him slower. |

Darkness growled as he tried to move his feet, but couldn't. "Ember again!" Rena said. Darkness nodded and sent another blast of fire at the Weedle.

The weedle tried to use string shot again to defend itself against the attack again but failed! The ember attack gave it a burn!
Totally enraged and with it's remaining strength, it launched a tackle attack at the houndour! |

Darkness growled as he was hit and tumbled to the ground. He struggled to stand and finally did, but was weak. "C'mon Darkness! Ember again!" Rena said. Darkness panted and then shot the Ember at the Weedle.

As soon as the ember attack touched the weedle, it fainted!
Houndour learnt about it's elemental attacks over bug type!

Rena smiled. "Good job Darkness!" she said, hugging the panting pokemon. He nodded as he was returned to his pokeball for a rest. Rena turned to Shadowfang and grinned. "Let's go to Route 2!" she said as she ran to the next route, with Shadowfang at her heels.
