After a day of relaxing, and training, Ash was ready to take on the first gym. His pokemon weren't the strongest, but he had faith in his friends. Riolu didn't know when to stop fighting, and Transer was strong, even for a lower level pokemon. If he played his cards right, he would be able to get that gym badge.
Now he walked into the front door's, but the humid, misty air gaged him for a moment. Even Riolu showed distress, but he fought it off. Ash walked on, hoping to find someone.
"Hello, is there anyone here? I am looking for the gym leader, maybe ask here on a date or something.
Ash laughed slightly at his little joke. If his yelling didn't work, then that immature joke would. It usually did. [/sub]

A number of people were already in the gym. Apparently, there was some sort of swimming class going on. On one side of the pool, three girls were practicing staying sychronized to music. On the other side, there was a diving board. Handsome men wearing nothing but speedos lined up to do flips and turns off of it.
No one seemed to notice Ash's entrance due to all of the noise.
The closest people to him was what appeared to be a panel of judges. The two well-dressed men were sitting behind a table, notes out in front of them. They discussed each dive while recording things on pieces of paper.

Ash only walked a little longer before the mist cleared, and then he could see as clear as day, and he didn't expect what he was seeing. Apparently, there was a swimming class going on, but no one heard his commend, due to the large amount of activity going on.
Next to Ash and Riolu were a panel of judges, discussing something, but he didn't hear much. Ash walked along the edge of the pool, and sat in a vacated seat, watching all the swimmers do what they did best. He couldn't help but to let his eyes wander to the girls in bikini's. He could put off the gym battle for this. [/sub]

At this point, someone finally seemed to notice Ash.
"Oh, thank goodness you've finally arrived," one of the judges said.
"Yes, when Larry called in sick, we weren't sure we'd be able to find a back-up in time for the competition. Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to help us." Before Ash could say anything, they handed him a scorepad as well as cards with numbers ranging from 0 to 10 on them (in half number increments.)
"AND NOW!" something announced on a loud speaker, "THE DIVING COMPETITION WILL COMMENCE."
First up? Hot bikini babe #1. She confidently walked up the ladder and dove. Nothing fancy, but not bad either. The other judges rushed to write something down on their notes before holding up cards:
7! 8.5!
All eyes turned towards Ash to see what his verdict would be.

Ash didn't know what to do now. He was mistaken for a judge, and now he was stuck with it. He stammered for a couple of moments, but stopped when he watched the young woman dove off the diving board. A grin touched his lips as he copied the judged.
8
It was in between the other two. It would work nicely, so long as the read judge didn't show up. Riolu was sitting of the table next to the cards. He was watching behind Ash, probably doing just what Ash was thinking. He was going to have fun with this job. [/sub]

The next diver took her post. She looked at the two other judges, blew them each a kiss, and winked. She was wearing suprisingly little, and she had a gentle, bronze tan. She jumped, and flopped into the water. It was horrible.
But for some reason, no-one cared.

The crowd cheered, as the swimmer swam towards the judges table. She sat on the table with the judges, looked straight at Ash, and said.
"What's it gonna be, handsome?"

There was hardly anything covering the girl as she jumped. Even Riolu turned to watch. Ash was lucky his mouth wasn't rubber, or it would be on the table. He shook his head, and looked to see what the judged gave her. For someone who just flopped around, she got very high scores.
Just as Ash was about give his score, she sat on the table, and spoke to him. He gave her a half-smile, and held his card up part way. Showing a.......

He couldn't help it. Her body, and his not-very-well-put mind made him.
"Well, I think that it would be good for you. Can I get your name, and maybe your number? Perhaps a late night swim later? How does that sound?

"I'll do one better, baby." she said, before scribbling on his notes. "Cheryl Adams, 14 Skara Boulevard Shellau Town
07700900461" "You can pick me up at 7."
She swung her towel over her, picked up her pokeball. Released her Pidgeot, and flew off into the sky.
- "And now the third and final finalist, Lillian herself!"
Lillian took her post. She released a pokemon: A marrill. "Alright Misty, you know how this works!"
The marrill released a bubble attack the spiralled around Lillians perfectly executed dive. It was perfect. She entered the water fluidly, and emerged gracefully. The crowd erupted with applause.

What?! It's seems Cheryl was still on people's minds... Oh Dear

Ash shook his head to clear the second girl, he now knew as Cheryl. The final girl, the gym leader, Lillian, though she was the best so fat, got very low scores. Ash shook his head. Apparently, no one of the judges knew how to balance them selfs. Ash had to give the high score to the one who deserved it.
10
Ash didn't smile, but frowned slightly . He felt bad about Cheryl getting the high score for flirting, but the one who deserved it hardly got anything. When she walked to them, did he speak up.
"I'm sorry for you getting the lowest score's when you deserve highest. Is there anything I can do to make up for it?
Ash was quiet, but by the looks of the other judges, they wouldn't have heard him if he had a loud speaker. Hopefully, she wouldn't hold it against him, for he was sincere about what he said. after this, he almost didn't want to go and see Cheryl. [/sub]

"And the winner, with 31 out of 30..." Cheryl Adams! Who wins a grand prize of ยง10 000 and a holiday for two to Paradise Island, where the party never stops!"
Cheryl walked out from behind some elaborate drapes, walking with perfect congeniality to the host, who gave her a bouquet and a crown, as well as a sash, saying "Miss Shellau Diver 2008".
Cheryl walked over to Ash, ignoring the loving gaze of every man in the gym, took her place near that table and said... "Time for that date you owe me."

All in due time, but first. I challenge the leader to a gym battle. That is the main reason why I am here.
Ash turned away from Cheryl, and back to the gym leader, Lillian. Riolu was on his feet as well, facing Lillian, also. A half smile came to his face, as he would finally get a reply from her, after having her ignore him. [/sub]

"But that's just it. The winner of the contest IS the new gym leader. It's the first time Lillian's ever lost!"
Around Ash, a crowd of people, wearing shirts with Lillian's face on them, and waving banners kept looking accusingly at Ash "You broke the gym!"
At the other side of the gym, Lillian was crying. "17 years straight. Two more and I could have retired to my mansion. What happened?"
Cheryl looked at him and smiled.
"As gym leader, I will only battle you AFTER that date."
OoC: You broke it, Ash. You'd better fix it!

"I have a better idea. We battle, one pokemon right here, right now.You win, and i will go on that date with you. I win, you give the gym back to the one who deserves it, and all your winnings too. It would be as if you didn't win at all. I intend to fix the mistake I just made."
Ash eyes hardened as he looked at Cheryl strait in the face. She won out of looks and flirtation, and nothing else. He felt bad for what he did, and didn't see through what he should have. With his mind clear, he was intend to set things right for everyone. Riolu stepped in front of Ash.
Choose your pokemon, and don't underestimate my Riolu. We wont loose, and Lillian would get her Gym back, like how she should. [/sub]

"Mistake? Oh, it's on baby boy!" said Cheryl, a fire in her eyes. She sent out her pokemon in a flurry of mist, the crowd watching intently The mist cleared, revealing a very impressing looking pelipper.
<So, Cheryl, honey, who I gotta moider foist?>
He flew into the air, before releasing a mist attack, becoming hidden in the fog.

Ash Grinned. He dealt with this kind of stuff before and knew how to counter it. Its was one of the first things Riolu learned, and it was a simple procedure involving Riolu using qrick attack in a circle.
"Ok, Riolu, just like with that Illumise, use Quick attack in a circle, get rid of that mist. Lets make that Pelipper appear before we show it." <Way ahead of you.>
Somehow, Riolu and Ash were always on the same trail of thought, making the same decisions. Riolu Ran in a circle, using quick attack, making a makeshift whirlwind. It removed the mist from the area. Riolu now adopted the open form of Karate that Ash had showed him. Without attacking using his own moves, he could attack in a unconventional way. It would also allow him to doge or block close attacks. A quick attack could move him away from any range. [/sub]

"Clever, but how sre you gonna dispel the mist if there's nowhere to dispel it to? Close the doors. Turn off the vents. Prell! Mist again!" Prell the Pelipper summoned another mist, and then struck from the dark with a quick attack, taking Riolu by surprise.

Now things were going to be bad. Without anywhere for the mist to go, it would stay in the room. Riolu stun, trying to figure out where the Pelipper was. Until he evolved, he wasn't able to fully use his aura, but he tried, and when the quick attack hit him, he rolled out of the attack, sill taking damage, just not as much. Once he was on his feet again, a quick attack of his own propelled him into the air, and a counter attack was assured.
"Riolu, use counter, then quick attack."
By now, Riolu was above the mist, because the coolness of it brought it towards the ground. He kicked off the roof, rocketing to the Pelipper, grabbing it, and throwing it to the ground. A second later, the quick attack brought Riolu to the ground again. It was going to be a tough fight to the bitter end, but the gym would be Lillian's once Ash was done here. [/sub]

(OoC: Would that happen in real life?)
BiC: Prell used it to his advantage. he caught hold of Riolu and flew up, breaking through the roof. He'd taken this battle into the air. He flew higher and higher and higher. Eventually, it began to get very, very cold. Little frostlets began appearing, but he continued his rise, the struggling riolu in his powerful feet. He carried on rising, until he was out of sight. And then... he let go. The riolu, already faint from lack of oxygen, fell nearly a kilometer to the earth, where he landed with a thunderous splash in the pool. Dead, if not fainted. Fainted, if not stunned.
Cheryl walked up to Ash.
"You DID say you wanted a date with the Gym Leader. Come on, boy."

Ash Stripped off his jacket, showing a sleeveless shirt, and muscles etched into his skin. He dove into the water, and brought Riolu back up. He was still breathing, but feinted. Just a little more training, and maybe he would make things right. When Cheryl walked up to him, he didn't acknowledge her but hardly. He spoke but a few soft, yet cold sentences.
I would, but with the true gym leader. I let my mind get clouded, oh and one other thing. I wasn't a judge, so your 'win' there was but an illusion. It didn't count at all, and it wont be until teh real judge gets here, or it is redone, everyone knowing that someone true can be a judge. I would be, and my thoughts wont be clouded.
Ash walked back to his jacket, and rapped the small pokemon in it. With Riolu in one arm, he walked towards Lillian, but she may hold something against him, so sat down in the first chair he was in when he first came here. He was trying to warm up Riolu, and he may need some help with it. [/sub]

When Ash made that startling revelation, there was a collective gasp from the audience. At that point, the door burst open, revealing a drenched, stately looking man bearing a small badge saying "Judge."
There was a clamour as Lillian, Cheryl and hot beach babe no.1 all rushed towards him.
"Hey handsome." "Looking good, sweetie" "So, I heard you liek mudkipz!"
Oh dear.

Ash looked down at Riolu during the gasp, A small smile on his face. His hat covered it in shadow, so person saw it. At that point, Riolu opened his eyes, but barely. He didn't move, but Ash knew he must be hurting somehow. He would soon bring his friend to the pokemon center, but fir now, he reached for a spray of potion in his pack, and sprayed it on Riolu, just make sure he would be ok.
Once the crowd around the third judge started to clear, Ash rose from his seat, and walked to him, forcing his way through the crowd, until he was in front of him.
Judge, is your mind easily clouded? Give me an answer, or please forfeit your position to someone who can keep a clear one.
Ash didn't mean himself, but someone who could see through the perception of the women to the pure talent that they perform. Ash could do that, but he didn't know if this guy could, and he knew that the first two judges cant on the first turn. Maybe they would do better. He ignored the calls from the people around them, rather the shouts were to Ash or the judge. [/sub]

"Please, I'm Cheryl's ex-boyfriend. I ain't fallin' for no tricks. Mama didn't raise no fool." He reviewed the tapes and gave startlingly different scores. 6 -550 (with a little note at the bottom saying "Why Cheryl? We could have been perfect!" and 10 + 9 for originality + 5 for hotness. Lillian took the landslide victory. Noticing what Ash had done, Lillian, came up to him and gave him a hug, as well as a playful kiss on the cheek. "Thank you."

Don't worry about it. I should have seen through that, but I didn't, so i tried to make up for it, yet I lost. You're lucky that the last judge was here, or else she would still be the leader.
Ash was still surprised by the kiss on the cheek. Ash made things worse at first, and he hardly did anything to make up for it. He and his Riolu were weak, but would train harder. He lowered his head to the still Riolu, who was looking at Lillian. Ash looked back at her, and Smiled slightly.
I try to keep things in balance, but today, luck was on our side, and you get to keep the gym, and all the prizes. [/sub]

"I seem to recall you wanted a date. I've got two tickets for a trip to Paradise Island. Wanna come? We can have a beach party!" she looked bubbly and happy. She saw the riolu. "That fall must have hurt...".
A strange minty wind blew through the gym... "An earth-shaking fall from blinding heights, where the frost overcomes life and the breath is forced. This is the fall that was to occur..."

We would be more than happy. But I need to get Riolu to the pokemon center, then, after he is ready, we need to go to the Lapras Shrine. <It hurt a lot, and I think that was the fall that Lapras was talking about.>
It was at that moment that the misty voice blew throughout the gym, saying what Riolu just said. He didn't say anything after that, but closed his eyes, not asleep, but resting, conserving his energy. The muscles in Ash's arms bunched up under his skin.
[/b]But I do need a Gym badge. Hopefully, when we return, I could win it from you.[/b][/center][/sub]
