"Yeah! She's been kidnapped by Herald. He ambushed me from the sky as I stepped outside... Camille refused to go into a ball." Darkaan said. He looked down at the letter then at Liam. "Why is Herald thanking you Liam? What did you do?" Darkaan turned threateningly at Liam. "How did Herald know we found her?"

ooc||Mmm... I think that Herald might be at the pokemon lab.
-Lab is the only thing directly north of the breeding farms -Mysterious character in lab handing out pokemon? -the sudden appearance of dark pokemon -check the clue given at the lapras shrine- ekans was Jai's first pokemon, recieved at the lab
It all kind of makes sense.
*pokes Darkaan* Pwetty please fly Jai to the lab with you *hint, hint* (she's on route two...)

Darkaan decided to head back to Lecana village. Tomorrow morning he'll head to the Lapras shrine to see if it can aid him on his trip. "Good ol' shrine!" He thought as he released Fearow and flew back towards Lecana. "I'll find Herald in the morning if possible." He thought.

Jai hobbled back up to the old Acerbus Breeding farm. Though it couldn't have been more than a month since she had last been here, it seemed like an eternity had passed. So many things had changed. Jai herself had changed. She hoped that others could tell that too (but kind of doubted it, as very few knew her.)
The girl looked around the old ruins. None of her pokemon were out. This was something that she had to do alone. She had to learn what had happened to the old farm after Herald had disappeared, then turned into a pokemon. There had always been something about him that had intrigued her. But being in front of his old farm sent shivvers down her spine. She knew for a fact that he was at the lab, but she still couldn't help but wonder...a man such as that couldn't be caged into four walls. He had proven himself by breaking out of jail. How much more of a prison was the lab? How much more of the prison was himself?
Jai tapped on one of the remaining walls. "Anyone home?" she asked, wondering if any of the pokemon had stayed, or if all had deserted.
ooc||Heh...sorry if this is...a little weird or something. Feelin' emo right now. Kind of like the phoenix and the ashes and all... blah, blah, blah, expression.

Darkaan emerged from inside it's walls. He came up from the basement down stairs where Herald used to do his experiments.
"Hello?" He replied. "Who's there?" He wasn't quite sure where the voice came from, so he headed down the hall to the entrance.

"Darkaan?" Jai asked. She hadn't expected to see him again, "Is that you?" Then, she remembered him saying something about ice pokemon that Herald supposedly had. She couldn't figure out how Darkaan knew that; from what she understood, herald was a dark type trainer. "It's me, Jai," she added, just in case he had forgotten her.

"Yeah. Jai?" Darkaan rubbed his eyes, adjusting them to the light of upstairs. He saw her standing at the entrance. "Great to see you again!"
It was that awkward moment, where you knew someone but didn't know what to do. He wanted to give her a hug because he was excited to see her again. He took a step forward and suggested that he was going to open his arms, but then hesitated.

"Great to see you again too!" Jai said. She couldn't help sounding excited. Then, awkward... Was the boy going to hug her? Or was he doing some sort of new dance. Jai pretended to adjust her crutches. "So, what have you been up to and what are you doing back here at the farm?"

He thought it was wise to refrain. "Before I met everyone here the first time, I went to a pokecentre and examined what pokemon he had with him on his farm. I don't know why he has them. But among me discovering he had a kecleon, shiftry and nuzleaf, he also had a shiny dewgong and walrein!" He explained.
"I came here hoping to find them and help them. And maybe talk them into coming with me. They are heaps far away from water and the ice cold climates." Darkaan continued.
"I was down stairs, reading through some of Herald's journals, hoping they would give me a clue as to where they like hanging or if they had any habits or places they'd like to go. When they weren't here the first time, I went to Brooke's breeding farm to see if they went straight there. But they didn't."
Now that Darkaan explained what he was doing here, he was interested as to why Jai was here. "What'chya doing here? Planning on keeping Herald's pokemon company after the ordeals they've gone through?"

"Uh, yeah," Jai said, nodding her head. The story was good enough for her. In fact, she didn't exactly know why she was here. Partially because she hoped that Herald wasn't gone forever, and partly because she knew he was. "I was just wondering what would become of this place. And the pokemon." Once again, the girl remembered all the poor pokemon, wailing as they were turned into the dark type. "I just hope the whole dark thing didn't have any bad side effects." She rubbed the pokeball containing her new Ponyta and Ekans, hoping that they didn't carry some sort of unknown disease.
"So, you're here to find those two ice pokemon?" She leaned on one crutch for a moment, looking Darkaan over. He was just the way she had remembered- maybe a little more confident, or maybe it was just her. "A Walerein?" she asked, "Those things are pretty big if I remeber correctly, big, being an understatement. It think that it's safe to assume that they either returned to the wild, or are still cooped up in their pokeballs. You can't exactly hide a Walerein."

Darkaan scratched his head. "Yeah. Both pokemon would stick out like a sore thumb if they were spotted around here. If you want though we can hang out with Unombre, Fear and Herald's other pokemon. Apparently they are trying to continue on the business without Herald."
Darkaan looked at Jai intently. "I don't mean to be rude, but how did you get those crutches?" He asked, curiosity creeping over his face. He was amazed she at all had the courage to take on Herald in the state she was in. Being disbled, she could have been at the mercy of anything when she into the haunted lab with him.

Jai's heart jumped when Darkaan asked the question, then began to beat, an untamed beast trying to escape her chest. A flow of words that will not be repeated streamed through her head at such a pace, that she litterally had to tell herself to calm down (in her head.) Jai should have known that the question was coming. Forget Wailrein and Dewgong, with her scars and crutches, Jai stuck out like a sore thumb. She was about to give Darkaan the typical I was in an accident, what's it to you? answer, but before she could stop herself, she was telling him her story.
"Well you see," Jai began, suddenly seeming rather interested in the image of her own feet, "Well, I guess, what I'm trying to say is," Jai paused again. Half because her heart was still trying to escape her and half because it still wasn't too late to turn back and make up some story. "I was, uh, caught in a fire. Yeah. Team Rocket was attacking this village. And there was a forest nearby. They started it in the forest, they started the fire in the forest that is. And I was," Jai hesitated, "I was in the forest. Yeah. Got pretty burned up in the fire." Jai nodded and looked up at Darkaan. Suddenly, she felt a lot lighter, then as if on cue, the very next beat left her feeling heavier than ever. "So, you think the pokemon here are going to be okay?"

Darkaan could obviously tell that Jai was nervous talking about it, so he took the cue as well and changed subject.
"Yeah the pokemon, I think are fine. Fear seems to be the most messed up and Unombre, I think she's changed allot from this experience. She used to be incredibly loyal, now she doesn't seem to trust anyone but still treats customers for their needs. My greatest concern is for Kamille. Remember that messed up kecleon? Do you know what has happened to her?"
(Ooc: Just make up what you think happened to her!)

Unombre came into the room looking all forlorn. She rubbed up againt Darkaan's leg and sat moping in front of Jai.
She sighed. Nimrod stood at the end of the hall and leaned against the wall, his precious stone eyes first looking at Unombre, then Jai, the n at Darkaan. He didn't say anything.

Jai smiled a little, glad that the subject had been changed. After a while, her pulse returned to normal and she shrugged. "Kamille," she repeated, more to herself than to Darkaan. "I suppose she probably...I don't know. I haven't seen her since the lab...in fact, I don't remember seeing her after the police arrived. Maybe she escaped to get back to that one island." Or at least that was what Jai hoped she had done. "Or maybe...maybe she's still with Herald? You know, loyalty is a strong thing, especially for females...perhaps even stronger than trust. I wouldn't be surprised if she's still at the lab or something."
Jai looked down at Unombre. "You alright?" she asked, patting the pokemon on the head. She seemed pretty depressed. Poor gal.

Unombre rested her head against Jai's head and sighed again. <Fear is more depressed then me... Herald's potions messed him up pretty bad...> There was a hint in her voice that suggested she was going to break into tears.
<He's looking for someone to love him for who he is... but he's depressing to hang around... He needs to get out and get his mind off himself.>
Unombre appreciated the tenderness and affection Jai gave her.

Jai scratched behind Unombre's ears as she listened to what the pokemon was saying. Fear? Now that she thought of it, she vaguely remembered the pokemon. "So, you think the potion messed him up? Nothing a little love couldn't fix, right?" The girl was silent for a moment. She was thinking about the potion. "Unless," she didn't want to say it, but did anyways, "the potion did something to his mind or something. Then, we might need another one to reverse the outcome." Jai sighed. She hoped not.

"Schucks! Where is he now... How do you guys do it? I mean how do you run the farm? It's so... so... How would you describe it?.. Burdensome!!!" Darkaan said without thinking. As soon as he said that, he regretted it. He slapped his hand over his mouth.

As soon as Darkaan said the word 'burdensome', she couldn't hold back any more. Her beautiful eyes swelled up with tears and she turned her face into Jai's leg, sobbing uncontrollably.
<I di-didn't kn-know c-c-c-customers fel-f-felt such a-a-a negative presence here! It's m-m-my bur-burden ev-ev-everyone f-f-eels!> Her muffled voice sobbed.
Nimrod came and sat down among the two trainers. The back door slammed and now Middoon could be seen at the end of the hall, slowly approaching. Middoon sensed Unombre's disturbance and came in to see if she was alright. She nosed Unombre affectionately in the neck.
The three pokemon (except Unombre) sat in silence in the presence of the two trainers. They were exhausted of all their strength. They missed love.

"Oh," Jai said, allowing her crutches to fall to the ground and sitting down herself. "It's okay," she said, hugging Unombre to her chest. She didn't know why she said the words. Things didn't seem alright to her. The girl nodded as the other pokemon came in. After a while she asked, "So, is there anything we can do to help?"

Middoon and Nimrod sighed together. They didn't have a clue as to how the trainers could help. As unombre cried into Jai's leg, Middoon gazed helplessly into Jai's eyes.
And nimrod's eyes were doing something funny. Something sparkly fell from his eyes and hit the floor hard. He was crying sapphires!

"Well, if it would cheer anyone up, I would like to support you guys by buying something... would 17 luxury balls do it? That'd cost me... $17000!" He said. "I'm sure that would put a smile on you di-"
But then Darkaan realised why Nimrod's tears were so loud when they hit the floor! He was crying sapphires from his crystalised eyes. Darkaan ogled at the sapphires. His greedy little mind distracted him from the most important thing at that moment, the well-being of the pokemon. He bent down and tried to scoop some up.

Fear emerged from one fo the corridors- his ears pricked up by Darkaan's offer in the other room. Fear looked amazing! Yet his depression was clear to see. "Yeah! I'll do anything to get my mind off myself!" He said. Even Nimrod, stopped crying. Middoon saw Darkaan scoop a handful of sapphires, but told him to put them down. "His pain is our gain!" She said. However she didn't see the two sapphires that Darkaan had already pocketed. Nimrod staggered to the counter as Middoon eyed Darkaan suspiciously. Nimrod pulled out a carton that held a stack of luxury balls. He pulled out three of the balls and gave the rest of the box to Darkaan. Obviously the box held 20 luxury balls in them. "I'll collect the money!" Fear said, his tail wagging slightly. "And I'll give him the receipt!" Said Middoon. "And I'll say 'Thank you and please come again!'." Rasped Nimrod. They were desperate for things to happen at the farm! This was medicine to them! Unombre was still crying, but in control of her emotions now. She some-how snuggled herself into Jai's arms and legs. For her to share her tears and emotions with a trainer was very therapeutic. She really warmed to Jai and her affection. She looked into Jai's eyes, her own eyes sparkling, revealing her pain, passion and brokeness.
