The chanting had been scary, but in silence, Marco felt as though his whole self might crumble into nothingness at any moment now. He found it hard to breath, and his heart rate went up. The boy was sweating all over dispite the shadows they were covered by. Shadows. Something could be in the shadows. Marco found himself obsessing over the dark shapes cast on the ground. He should have been worried about the shrine. But instead, Marco was watching the shadows. Dark splotches. No doubt they had terrible intentions. The boy had to get away. From the shadows. He glanced around, noting that the distance had seemed to greatly increase between where he was on Sparkle's back and the ground. There was no choice: he'd have to jump. Luckily, the great pokemon had stopped moving as soon as the chanting had stopped.
<Um, hi,> Houndour said, breaking the awkward silence.
Marco jumped. He hit the ground, scraping the palms of his hands since he had used them to catch himself. Cold seeped into them. The shadows. The cold. The boy ran.
Finally, he made it out of the shadowy area created by the bone shrine, but Marco's pokemon were still there. He was just relieved to be away from the shadows, and soon noticed that his hands were bleeding. The boy took a vial from his bag and poured a little liquid onto his scratches which would help his blood to clot.
--- ((back at the bone shrine))
<Where's Marco gone of too?> the Houndour asked, <He won't last one second without me.>
<It's hard to say,> Sparkle said, <But we can't leave the shrine now. There's no telling what would attack us.>

If Marco and houndour were to continue talking, they wouldn't have been able to hear each other. THey were suddenly drowned out by a sudden explosion of noise that came out from the bone shrines entrance. The ground quaked beneath Sparkle and houndour as a stampede of ghostly skeleton tauros stampeded out from the bone shrine.
The sound was defeaning as the tauros spirits tore off into the desert, clicking and cracking their joints as they stampeded off. However, as the stampeding tauros left, an actual wounded tauros tried to flee for it's life. This was the beast that was wailing in the shrines walls. The clouds of sand (whipped up by the stampede) was dying down as was this young tauros.
It hobbled in pain; odd sharp objects sticking out of its back, making the pathetic bull pokemon bleed uncontrollably. The cubone's eyes glistened and surrounded the tauros which stumbled into the circle of runes, drawn out by the cubone's bone clubs.
The tauros collapsed. Breathing hard. Right in the center of the ring of runes, the cubone's clubs raised, ready to strike the final blow to claim the life of the young tauros... It moaned... And wept weekly...

Houndour shrunk away in fear, hardly visible between Sparkle's massive boulders. The Onix's mouth opened in surprise when the skeleton tauros appeared. Surely those pokemon should have been dead! The next thing that struck the pokemon was the wailing of the Tauros. Sparkle watched as the pokemon collapsed in the center of the Cubones, leaving a bloody trail behind.
<Wha-?> then, he seemed to realize what was about to take place, <They can't do that.>
<What are you talking about?> the Houndour asked, <Of course they can. They can do anything they **** please when there's that many of them. What are you thinking ab- you have got to be kidding me.>
The crystaline pokemon had already began moving at a rapid pace towards the Cubones.
<You don't really think you have the strength to beat them!> the Houndour barked, but Sparkle didn't hear.

The cubone swung their clubs around in the air, performing the final rites...

Sparkle screeched as he rushed towards them for a tackle attack. He realized too late that if he hit the Cubones, he would undoubtedly hit the Tauros as well.
---
The dizziness in Marco's head went away. The boy realized that he should probably get back to his pokemon before he lost them for good. There was no telling what could happen in this valley. He was scared.
Two flashes of light later, and the boy was joined by a couple of bird pokemon as well as a coughing fit.
<WHAT ARE YOUUU DOING?> Twee screamed.
<WE'RE IN A FREAKY PLACE!> Fwee yelled.
<I'M SCARED OF THE FREAKY CREEPY PLACE!> Twee agreed.
<WHERE'S SPAWKLE?>
<THERE'S SPAWKLE!>
<COME ON TWAINER! WE NEED TO GET SPAWKLE.>
Marco followed the two bird types, back towards the shrine. For some reason, it didn't seem as scary when he was following two idiot pokemon. Talk about screwed logic.

The squawking of the two pokemon seemed to distract the two cubone. Distracted while still having their bone clubs raise dover their heads, they didn't seem to notice the giant rock snake lumbering and screeching towards them.
Sparkle cleaned them up with one swipe with his tackle attack. They responded by clubbing him with ground type moves but with very little effect. His ability 'diamond defense' made their attacks not very effective. The tauros was swiped by the actions but was fighting to survive from it's external bleeding. It was moved a safe distance from Marco and the now fighting cubone. It moaned in pain, it's eyes rolling into the back of it's head. The spiky bones (of what seemed to be broken rib cage spikes), stuck out of it's torso from all angles.

Sparkle swung his tail back at the Cubone, hoping to hit them again. Meanwhile, Houndour spit ember attacks at random. It was impossible to aim while trying to hold onto the crystalline snake at the same time.
Marco watched as the ribs poked through the poor creature in frong of him. The boy knew that he should help, but he didn't know how. Sure he could treat his own wounds, but he had never been half-dead before...tiny cuts and scratches he could treat, but this was a little different. A lot different.
He dug through one of his pockets and got out a potion. Marco shrugged. If this didn't help, he was out of ideas. As the boy approached, he began coughing and sneezing. Still allergic. It didn't help that there were all the Cubone around, not to mention, Fwee and Twee had decided that his shoulders would make perfect resting places.
Fearful that the Tauros would still be dangerous, even in this state, Marco stayed a few feet away. You could never be too careful. Then, he sprayed the potion, hoping that it would reach.

The potion had some affect. It seemed to settle the tauros down. It lay it's head down on the hot and cold sand. It closed it's eyes-still troubled. It moaned in pain.
This time the cubone were ready! At a higher skill level they avoid Sparkle's slow but steady tail swipe. One raised it's club and bought it down on Sparkles mass, the other following suit.
However, both broke out into a sweat, when they realised that they couldn't get through Sparkle's 'Diamond Defense' hide.
They clubbed him as hard as they could to spare their own life!

Sparkle flung his tail at the Cubone once more. The large pokemon was wearing himself out even if the attacks against him failed to do any damage. Houndour had since lay down on the diamond pokemon's back, exhausted from the fight.
Meanwhile, Marco tried to concentrate on the Tauros at hand. But the constant noise of the bones hitting his Onix PING! then the ground PONG! then sometimes bouncing PUNG! back into the Cubone's hands to be thrown yet again. It was all getting to poor Marco's head.
"Please don't go," Marco said, tentatively reaching his hand out to touch the pokemon's forehead. The air around it was warm- he didn't have to extend his arm further to feel. The boy got out another potion and sprayed it on the pokemon.

ooc: you can catch, heal it and release it into the wild again.
The cubone's arms started to tire. They ferociously whacked at Sparkle but started to eventually started to tire.
The cool spray of the potion seemed to sting the poor tauros a bit- but it's refreshing cool soothed it's pain- with it's eyes closed it smiled.

<Well, you are going to catch it, no?> the Houndour, who had momentarily tired of the Cubones', game asked.
"Uh, yeah, I guess so," Marco said. The boy, who hadn't the intuition of a trainer, spent the next twenty-two seconds searching for an empty pokeball. When he finally found one, he was forced to stop again to breathe into his inhaler, before finally tossing it (the pokeball it is; the inhaler went back into his pocket) at the Tauros.
Sparkle smiled, seeming to realize that he had the upper hand...or tail. With renewed energy, the Onix attacked the Cubones.

(ooc: diamond defense is a too good ability i gave your crystal onix. make it so that no normal attack can have effect, but special attacks do neatral damage- fire doing X3 damage. Otherwise it's practically invincible!)
One of the cubone's finally fainted out of exhaustion. The other kept up it's assault. It's shrine position was at stake!
It decided to disarm by finally not using a normal attack on the crystal onix. It used the dark type move 'special attack' fling, hurling it's club straight at Sparkle's face!

ooc|| BUAHAHAHAHA-er...maybe Marco can take over the world after all, even if he is a sucky trainer. Sparkle's sheer coolness may be enough to compensate.
bic||
The boy watched in rapture, wondering if the pokeball he threw would catch the near-dead Tauros.
THUD!!!
Sparkle was hit with the dark attack. The giant snake pokemon thrashed around, momentarily blinded by the darkness. Finally, regaining his sight, the large pokemon attempted to tackle the remaining cubone head-on. The chrystaline snake was angry now, and determined to win if it was the last thing he did.
<Are you gonna catch that one too?> the Houndour asked, looking at the Cubone who had fainted, but talking to Marco. The boy seemed surprised. Marco shrugged before throwing another pokeball, this one at the Cubone. If nothing else, he could trade it to someone else like he had done to the Torchic.

The tauros and cubone remained in the ball.
((Stats)) Nickname: (you choose) Species: Tauros Gender: (You Choose) Level: 29 Attacks: Zen Heabdutt, Payback, Horn Attack, Rest Ability: Intimidate & Ager Point Persona: Loyal
((Stats)) Nickname: (you choose) Species: Cubone Gender: (You Choose) Level: 34 Attacks: Headbutt, Bone Club, Bonemerang, Fling Ability: Rockhead & Lightning Rod Persona: Casual
The cubone and thrown it's held item and now stood defenseless. It's special attack was powerful, but special attack wasn't it's strength. I jumped onto the giant crystal onix and attempted to climb up to it's face.

ooc|| Cubones are so darn cute!!! *huggles Cubone* I might just have to make it a regular while RPing. Yup. But wow, high level for Marco...he got incredibly lucky.
bic||
It took Sparkle a moment to figure out what the Cubone was doing. He just lay there, confused for a moment. Then, the giant rock pokemon shook his head violently, trying the get the ground-type to let go. The pokemon screeched in agrivation, and his poor trainer was forced to cover his ears (which is a hard thing to do while using an inhaler, I might add.)
Marco reached down and picked up the two pokeballs. He pondered the possibilities of getting some sort of medication for his allergies. There didn't seem to be a thing out here that didn't make him sneeze. Perhaps his Mom could help him with that one. The boy made a mental note to call her as soon as he got some reception. No doubt his pokegear wouldn't work in this valley.

The screech was enough. The cubone raised it's instantly to it's ears to prevent Sparkle's ear piercing screech. It fell to the ground with a thud- and for once it feared for it's life.
Exhausted, it dragged itself into the bone shrine- collapsing in the darkness. It fainted!
Sparkle gained 3 levels!
The murkrow looked at each-other. Disappointed. No tauros for dinner. On the other hand, they looked at each-other, confused, wondering what to do next.
One applauded Marco and Sparkle for their bravery. Another decked the applauding murkrow from missing out on lunch. Others flew into the shrine while others just decided to suddenly fall asleep.
O good! The heat of the desert returned to irrtate Marco and Sparkle.

"Uggh!" Marco exclaimed as he felt the heat seep into his skin once more. The boy began to sweat and feel itchy in the most inconvenient places. Then, realizing that the Cubone had fainted, Marco walked over to it. The boy picked up a nearby stick (or was it a bone?) and poked the pokemon, just to make sure. He was about to get up and walk away, after all, he didn't need another pokemon he was allergic to. He had already been suckered into catching one Cubone, so there was no way he'd take this one with him too. But then, Marco had compassion on the poor thing. Out in this heat, he realized, it could get dehydrated and die. Marco knew all about such medical conditions since he had been dehydrated more than once before.
The boy bent down and took out a potion which he took out and sprayed on the bone-weilding pokemon. "Just don't hurt me," he said as an afterthought.
<What are you squawking at?> Houndour barked at the Murkrow.

The cubone opened it's eyes and glared up at Marco. It pointed it's stubby little fingers in his face and slowly got up and retreated into the shadows of the shrine. It slouched against the wall... and gave Marco the bird! It was a cursed pokemon anyways...
Speaking of birds, the murkrow shut their beaks as they heard Sparkle speak. Some glared at him, others eyed off his sparkeliness (i like that play-word) and coveted his crystal boulders. One flew down and landed on his crystal horn. It wanted to see it's reflection. Another followed suit, landing on Sparkle's neck.
A cold and chill-filled wind came blowing out of the shrine's black entrance. It seemed to whisper...

ooc|| I like the way it always takes me like a month to reply to this thread. xD
bic||
The boy gasped when the pokemon gave him the bird. They could do that? He never thought that such a cute pokemon would have it in them. Though he couldn't exactly blame it. He had just captured his friend.
Sparkle felt uncomfortable with the birds landing on him. He didn't like the way that they looked at him or the way that they squawked and carried on. They itched his neck. The large boulder pokemon shook his head violently, trying to get the Murkrows to leave him alone.
A chill went down Marco's spine. Was the wind speaking to him?
