I haven't sprited for years, so most of these are onld ones. Recolours and fusions only- my scratch sprites turn into blobs. In the end I just scribble with the mouse and then draw legs and eyes. (This is also my theory as to how Tangela was designed. The Pokemon designers got bored, put it in as a joke, then it actually got through.) Anyway, please comment on what you think of them, bear in mind some of them are old too. Golem/ Vileplume fusion. Yeah, I was bored. Oh so bored. Sandwag. Sandshrew/Poliwag fusion. Done for a sprite competition... ages ago. Ice type Weepinbell One of my first recolours. Not my best, not my worst though. =] Dragonite/Articuno fusion. Made for a board that died... T-T But I like this one. Charizard/Persian fusion I think this one was a request? I don't remember, but I think it's quite good... Mewtwo/Mightyena fusion- request. Some mischevious Jigglypuff siblings- simple recolours. One of my first, for my own board, which has since died and been forgotten... Lugia/Ho-oh mix Made for roleplay board. Old, can't find the version with the coloured underbelly. I reckon it looked a bit Christmassy... XD Okay, they're all I can be stuffed to dig up between coughing fits (Saph is ill...), so please feel free to let me know what you think of them! And remember, almost all of them are ancient...

Cool. I like the Mewtwo/Mightyena fusion. Love the tangela theory.

I bet they're regretting it ever since, it must be really difficult to come up with a new sprite every few years. In the switch from RS - FRLG, all they could be bothered to do was swap the legs.
As for your sprites, I'd recommend not saving as JPG ever. (You will literally get laughed out of sprite contests) And also to use colours found on another sprite. If you use one of the default paint colours, you will probably die. The GBA (you're using FR sprites) could show 256 specific colours, and if you use a colour that's not one of thos 256, you will look cheap and tacky. For first attempts though, they're not half-bad/ I particularly like the far right wigglytuff, just the colouring, as I've mentioned.

@pbk- Thanks! =D And I reckon that's one of my favourites too. I did debate whether or not to change the legs, though...
@nish- Thank you for the advice! But do you mean not saving them as .PNG format? That's what these are- unless I've missed one... ^_^" Which is highly possible. EDIT: Ah, no, you're right, I did save a few like that... my bad! ^_^" And I agree, when I look at the colours from other sprites in comparison to the others, they do look much better. I may have to fix up that Wigglytuff using Squirtle's colours.... =D Incedently, do you think I'd be better using Diamond/Pearl sprites? The only reason the FR/LG ones are the ones I use is because they were the first ones I could find. XD And I'm used to them. Can the DS display more colours? (Probably an obvious question, but just to check... XD) And haha, I didn't notice! Could never manage to find Tangela on Sapphire. They must have been so annoyed with whoever made it. Poor game designers... T-T

Personally, I mostly like the first two sprites and the last two. The reason being, the others are either in jpg or shaded badly. Keep at it. You've got good skills with this. Just save them as PNG.

Personally, I hate the D/P sprites since the new pokemon are really cartoony, and have childish shading, but they do use more vibrant colours, and a lot of black in the outline. Furthermore, they don't use dithering as much as GBA sprites, and can be 33% larger, which means more detailed. So, by all means, use DP, if you can manage. Just don't use one of the Gen 4 pokemon.
H-A-T-E them.

Seriously. Fourth gen is even worse than third gen which makes second gen look beyond perfect.

Thanks, Tyson! Will do!
And I have got to agree with you on that one. The fourth generation is so much worse... I reckon they're running out of ideas. I reckon the actual game is good and the extra features and everything, but the actual pokemon are a let down. And so unoriginally named. Shieldon, par example. Guess what it resembles! I can't really complain on that front, though, being a big fan of Bulbasaurs. It's a dinosaur resembling a plant! :'D Genius. But I guess the fans coming in on this generation won't have anything to compare it to, so they won't be able to moan. XD And the first generation- well, though some names weren't exactly inspired, I reckon it was the originality that got people hooked. The idea of pokemon was new and exciting- whereas, now, all they're doing is recycling the old stereotypes.
