Full Name: Gregory Isaac Stanford
Nicknames: Greg, Greggo
Age: 17
Date of Birth: May 5th, 1990
Gender: Male (Obviously. )
Appearance:
Leggo Mah Greggo <3
Greg is a tall young man, standing at an average height of 6 feet and a little bit when fully upright. He appears just a bit smaller, though, mainly because he has the annoying habit of slouching a bit. Weighing a fair 150 lbs, the male has a slender build and, despite what everyone expects, has not bothered with sports of some kind. Because of this, Greg’s arms, legs and torso show hardly any to no muscles at all. Yet another sign of him preferring t stay inside is the boy’s light skin, leaning a bit to the pale side. Like his friend Elizabeth, Greg doesn’t tan much either. Half an hour is more than enough to send him home with a sunburn. A pair of green optics are set in the male’s face, his eyes being slightly bigger than those of most boys his age, making him appear slightly younger than he actually is. Finally, dark, sandy brown hair frames this male’s face, and can almost always be found standing upright save for a few strands. As Liz often describes Greg’s unique hairstyle: ‘It’s like he rolled out of bed, into his clothes, down the stairs and then outside and then decides to stick with it.’
Being a true guy, Greg hardly cares much for clothing. He is the kind of guy that can judge whether a T-shirt is wearable after sniffing it and coming to the conclusion it doesn’t smell so bad yet and looks fairly clean, and so is still wearable. He does have a certain preference for his usual outfit, which consists of a plain, yellow T-shirt that is just slightly oversized, together with a pair of tight navy blue jeans and a dark gray jacket, which he’ll pretty much wear everywhere, inside or out. One thing he does takes pride in, and he isn’t afraid to deny it, is his huge collection of converses. Usually he just settles with a pair of plain black ones, though. He isn’t all that picky.
Personality:
Though he likes to pretend he’s a man, Greg is still a kid at heart, and enjoys jumping around and making a fool out of himself as much as Liz does. Despite acting rather immature most of the time, Greg is an intelligent young man who has a passion for studying, believe it or not, his heart lying with science. That doesn’t mean he’s a geek, though. Packed with a sense of humor only him and his close friends seem to understand, Greg is always in for a laugh and always the one to take the initiative of cheering someone up, no matter whether he knows them or not. He apparently also believes himself to be extremely irresistible when in fact, he becomes extremely timid when confronted with what he believes pretty girls, only to exclaim to whoever bothers to be around that she ‘so wants him’.
When it comes to Pokémon, Greg isn’t the best battler in the world. Liz being generally far more aggressive than he is, he likes her to do all the fighting so he can watch. He is more interested in studying Pokémon than actually pitting them against others in physical combat. Contests, on the other hand, is something he enjoys to do, seeing as it requires planning before an appeal can be preformed. Furthermore, Greg is way too much of a softie for his own liking – He wouldn’t get mad at you even if you tried to.
History:
Born the only child to James and April Stanford, Greg was extremely protected by his parents, his mother especially. She wanted five kids and only got one, and with her husband being away for most of the day meant that young Greg got all the love he asked for, and truckloads more. It also meant Greg was generally excluded from doing things boys in the range of 5 to 10 years old should do, like climbing trees, getting dirty, and set out on a Pokémon Journey.
It wasn’t like Greg minded much that his mother didn’t want him to leave. He liked Pokémon for sure, but the idea of being a trainer never really appealed to him. He’d rather stay home and study than going out and seek out battles. During the five years that passed, Greg studied more and more, and eventually got enrolled in medicine school, where two years later, a girl joined him. The two of them seemed almost polar opposites, but still, Greg befriended Elizabeth Stokes (Which, in fact, wasn’t so hard; Greg sometimes tells about how Liz walked over to him and ‘pronounced him her friend’, something which Liz denies.) and the two haven’t left each other’s side since.
When Liz was finally allowed to set out on a Pokémon journey by her parents, something that had been a wish of hers since she was still young, Greg wasn’t so sure about coming. He didn’t really see the use, as battling never had been one of his favorite pastimes, but when Liz insisted, Greg said goodbye to his parents and joined his friend on the ferry to Kantex.
