Milo clumped down the path to the Regional Laboratory, which had nearly the same aura as the one his parents' worked in, but without all the memories of a particular overachieving sibling. Not having Thira around was great, but she had probably already been here and won the League Championship, or went and saved the region from danger or something stupid like that.
Finding a good-sized rock on the path, he took aim and kicked it as hard as he could. Pain mixed with the burning sensation that came from being out in the cold without a jacket, or for that matter, proper shoes, much too long. Why had he forgotten to bring a coat or boots? Sandals weren't necessarily the best foot attire for a dreary day like today. Mist and puddles were abundant here, which was positively lame. It would've been nice to proudly walk into the lab with the sun on his back and a pokémon in mind, but of course that wasn't possible. Unless he just camped out another day... No. His comic books had almost been soaked by last night's rain. They were the most important thing, no matter what happened. Hopefully the lab would have some sort of storage system or a P.O. box.
Tripping over the rock he just kicked, Milo suddenly jolted toward the cement around the entrance of the Laboratory. Getting up, Milo inspected his scratched hands before walking through the glass doors.
"Hello? Anyone here?"

ooc||Glad to see I'm not the only one with a terribly un-trainer-like-trainer.

Lab doors flung open, and a rather perky lookig 16-year-old assistant stared up at Milo. In reality, she looked like she was twelve, and could have possibly passed for a fourth grader if she had so desired...she was just that short.
Rainbow t-shirt, rainbow bracelets and a rainbow hat adorned her...along with a rainbow necklace, rainbow shoe laces, a rainbow messenger bag with little pins which depicted-you guessed it- hearts and stars and that sort of thing...and did I mention rainbows? Her blue jeans, perhaps the only thing upon her that wasn't utterly colorful, had a rainbw patch sewn onto the back (but let's hope Milo isn't looking there, eh?) Hot pink hair stuck out from under her hat. Pretty much everything else was rainbow. A smallish Ryhorn peeked from behind his trainer. The pokemon was wearing a rainbow bow around his neck. Now that is just slighty sick.
"How may I help you?" the girl asked in a sing-songy voice, "You look like you need a pokemon," she continued, not waiting for Milo to respond, "We have all types, including rainbow! Perhaps you would like this Rhyhorn over here. Killer is a real sweetie pie!" Rainbow girl proceeded to kneel down and hug "Killer," who did indeed seem to be nice enough...he'd have to be to put up with this.

[ooc: Yeah, Milo's gonna be terrible at training/battling. I don't think he can even understand a pokémon through gestures, let alone them talking. His will probably need to be hospitalized due to overfeeding or something.]
Killer is a real sweetie pie? Milo gulped. That thing had probably torn up somebody's backyard or something before coming here. How else could it get that kind of a name? Though, the pokémon had it right to be angry. He certainly wouldn't like to have a ribbon around its neck and be hugged by an annoying girl.
"Um, I don't think I'll be taking Killer," He mumbled, "Er, nice rainbows. They, uh, are really colorful."
Hands still stinging from falling onto the cement, he tried to pet Killer, mostly to be kind to the rainbow girl. With a yelp, he recoiled. Apparently Killer was able to live up to his name. Along with the scratches, his left hand now had to little indents to go with it. His writing was probably screwed for a while now.

ooc||Nice. He and Marco could fail together.
bic||
"Killer!" rainbow girl repremanded the pokemon, "That was a very naughty thing to do to our guest!"
Rock pokemon shrunk back, refusing to make eye contact with either girl or boy. It groaned, something which could be taken as an apology, or simply a sign of annoyance. When Killer thought the others were distracted, it darted for the back of the lab, leaving the rainbow bow behind.
The assistant sighed and bent down, picking up the bow and setting it carefully in her left pocket.
"Such a sad case that is," she commented, "Killer's been at the lab since he was an infant. No one will take him because of his demeanor." She stared out into space for a few moments before remembering Milo. "So, what kind of pokemon did you want?" she asked "We have everything in its first stage as well as some shiny, dark, and rainbow pokemon."

[ooc: I think that Milo is going to fail much more than Milo. Unless Magicarp have super secret powers.]
Milo hoped that rainbow girl wasn't trying to hand off the biting pokémon, because he really didn't want to die from rabies. Plus, he had a different pokémon in mind. See, Thira already had a shadow Rhyhorn, and all these other different shiny and shadow pokémon. Actually, she probably had all the pokémon in the world. But, one of the pokémon she didn't have was
"I'll take a Magicarp."
Yes, a Magicarp was going to be the best pokémon ever. It turned into an awesome pokémon, Garados, and it was one that Thira didn't have! Maybe being stuck in this region would be great after all. He could go and challenge her someday and beat her Raichu! Then his parents would think that he was worth something, and Thira would think he was good at something and then they could maybe travel together and become the world famous twins, Milo and Thira Renton! And he could have cooler pokémon than her. Come to think of it, he had never heard of rainbow pokémon. If he got a rainbow pokémon, maybe his parents would think he was really smart for having one.
"Er, and do you have any rainbow ones?"

"Rainbow?" the girl asked, smiling, "Of course!" She returned a moment later with a pokeball which she handed to him. "All I could find was this really weird one though, hope that's okay!"
Milo recieved Rainbow Magikarp! [rainbow magikarp sprite] Name: Gender: Level: 5 Attacks: Splash, Razor Leaf (only on bright days), Ember (only at night if there's a crescent moon), Selfdestruct (only on primenumber dates) Persona: Strange Ability:
"Take a starter pack on your way out."

[ooc: I'm assuming that Milo can't join the plot now? Or can he randomly fall into a trapdoor. x3 He's pretty good at falling and tripping and stuff.]
"Er, thanks," Milo said akwardly to rainbow girl as he stuffed the starter pack and the pokeball into his backpack. As he walked out the door, he wondered if all the pokémon in Kantex were as odd as the one he had just recieved.

[ooc: I'm assuming that Milo can't join the plot now? Or can he randomly fall into a trapdoor. x3 He's pretty good at falling and tripping and stuff.] quote] He can randomly fall through a trap door. We need more people even if it is close to finishing...and I'm sure that Magikarp could use some quick leveling anyways.
