Ryan, having know a new pokemon, looked at the map and decided where to go. After obseving for a bit, he decided to go through Route 1, and head west to Berry forest. He kept an eye for any pokemon he could do his first battle with, as well as maybe even catch an interesting one.

A Caterpie and Weedle crawled along the first route. They seemed to be having some sort of discussion about the weather as it relates to berry production.
<I'm sure that Pecha Berries grow better in the sun,> one of them said to the other.

Ryan looked at the two pokemon. "Hmm..." he said looking at them while rubbing his chin with his right hand. "They could be my first test as a trainer, and I can see how strong Heracross is!" Smirking, he took out the pokeball that held Heracross, and tossed it to thr ground. Once Hearacross appeared, Ryan quickly ordered him to use a horn attack at the weedle. "Heracross, this is gonna be our first battle!" he yelled. "Aim for the weedle! Horn attack!"

The weedle saw the opportunity for a battle and threw it's little body at the heracross. It delivered a poison sting attack at the same time it got hit by heracross's horn.
Caterpie, ticked off with the heracross, used stringshot to slow the big brute down.

"Keep at it!" Ryan yelled. "Do another horn attack at weedle!"

The weedle poked it's tongue at caterpie. <My fight! Not yours!> It squitted as it hit the heracross with another poison sting. The horn attack made the weedle quite a bit weaker...

"Alright... Just one more horn attack!" Ryan yelled before taking out a pokeball. If the attack succeeded, he would throw the ball at the weedle in an attempt to catch it.

The Weedle was hit once more and fainted.
Heracross gained 1 level!

"Darn..." Ryan said with a snap. "Oh well, nice job Heracross! You were awesome!" He used the pokeball to return Heracross. Ryan only wanted a battle, and also wanted to just try once to catch the Weedle to evolve it in to a Beedrill. He ignore the Caterpie, and began to job toward Berri Forest.

ooc|| In this roleplay, you can catch a pokemon after it's fainted.
bic||
The Weedle lay there on the ground, not moving so much as a hair.
Up ahead, two Pidgeys discussed the properties of the element lithium. They seemed to be arguing about whether or not it was more dense than boron and calcium. How strange.

(Oh I see... Not too late?) If it's allowed... Ryan attempted to catch the Weedle, and threw one of the empty pokeballs at it.
If not allowed Ryan ignores the two Pidgeys. He knew Heracross was weak against flying type, and he did not want a battle with them.

"Yes!" Ryan said with a cheer, going over and taking the pokeball that now held the weedle. He jumped around a bit, before putting the pokeball in his belt. "Hmm..." he looked at the Caterpie, to see what it would do.

The Caterpie did nothing but stare at Ryan. In fact, it was a little eerie how still the bug type could keep- not moving even a bit. It was statue like in appearance. Then, with out any warning, the pokemon burst into tears. <YOU KILLED MY FRIEND!> she shouted accusingly.

"Uhhh... No..." Ryan said with a frown. "I just captured it, once I go to a pokemon center or perhaps feed it some berries at Berry Forest, he'll be fine..." Ryan really didn't have time to talk with the Caterpie... And he was urging to go onwards.

<YOU KILLED MY BESTESTEST FRIEND!> the caterpie insisted, still crying. <YOU ARE A MEAN MAN! A MEAN, MEAN, MEAN MAN!> Poor pokemon. She really thought that the Weedle was dead.

Ryan sighed. "Ok... Look... What about you tag along with me for just a awhile. Once I get some berries, we can go to the pokemon center, and you can see your Weddle again. Alright?"

"Yeah yeah...." he said scratching his head. "Can you keep your pace with me?" Ryan was half-tempted to just catch the Caterpie... But threw the thought away. He already had 2 Bug pokemon... And he needed a variety. Perhaps later on, he thought to himself.

<Okay!> the Caterpie agreed.
The rest of the route seemed momentarily vacant, save a pile of sticks, neatly stacked to the side...strange really.

"Hmm?" Ryan looked at the stack of sticks. He guessed it was some materials for some pokemon or something to build with. It wasn't everyday he saw a stack. He went over, to get a closer inspection.

The stack of sticks didn't seem to change from this view. They seemed fairly ordinary...well, except for the one on the side, which wasn't even part of the stack at all. It was just laying there, all on its lonesome. Poor stick.

Ryan reaches out and grabs the stick. He shrugs, and throws it with the rest of the stack. He then get's up, and goes to continue his way to Berry Forest.

<MINE!> a pokemon called as Ryan picked up the stick. A rather territorial Farfetch'd grabbed the stick as Ryan was placing it back in the stack, and put it back into the same, seemingly random location. <MINE!> the duck type yelled again.

"Uhhh..." Ryan said, still having his knees bent down. He looked at the pokemon, with a puzzling look. "Sorry about that... What are you doing with those sticks."
