The smell of the fresh air!

[Katou]

Katou walked along the Route very calmly. He held Keiken's pokeball proudly, happy that he would soon have a Milotic. He decided to sit down near a pile of grass and rest for a bit.

[Professor Gravon]

Something bumped bumped into his back! It was the starter's pack that was psycho-kintically sent from the stranger at the lab!

It had a note on it...

"Sorry Kid! Not used to strangers. Here's your starters pack!"

What a... stranger...

[Katou]

Katou read the note and sighed. He didn't say anything since the person wouldn't be able to hear him. He opened the starter pack and looked through it. If only he had a fish bowl for Keiken. But then again he could get one from the Lapras Shrine in Route 2 that he had heard about, so he decided to wait for that. He looked around to see if any wild pokemon had been around.

[Professor Gravon]

A skull stared right into the face of Katou from the grass about two metres away.

[Katou]

Katou gave a weird look at the skull. He wondered why it had been there. He slowly started to walk over to it, carrying his pack and suplies with him.

[Professor Gravon]

The skull suddenly looked above Katou as some beady little eyes and a little wet nose faced Katou. The skull belonged to a pokemon! It became more evident as it emerged from the grass.
For some reason the presence of a trainer did not intimidate this little houndour.

It slowly shuffled off but looked down again and started moping.
<It's not fair! It's never fair!> It muttered silently.

[Katou]

"Whats wrong?" Katou asked the small dog pokemon. He let out Keiken who hovered slightly above the ground beside him. She said nothing, as if she was being mysterious. Her dull pink color showed.

[Professor Gravon]

<I was just rejected by the pack! They said I was too weak and depressing...> Sighed the houndour.
It didn't turn to face Katou but kept moving off. Its eye's started to water.

[Katou]

"Aww, I'm sorry..." Katou said. "If you would like you could come with me..." Keiken smiled at the houndour.

[Professor Gravon]

<Why? What would you have that would make my life any better?> Sniffed the houndour. It stopped, turned and now faced Katou.

[Katou]

"Well..." he paused. "You would be with someone who will care for you and like you for who you are..." Katou said and looked to Keiken. She nodded.

[Professor Gravon]

<And then you'll dump me and reject me like like my other friends?.. I just want too...> It looked down, it's eyes getting teary. It started howling miserably.

[Katou]

"No! I would never..." Katou stopped and started to reach to pet the small depressed dog. He iwshed he could do something to make it feel better.

[Professor Gravon]

"Go on! Pat me. Feel sorry for me. Then you can abandon me later." The houndour moped.

[Katou]

"No! I would never abandon you! I would never abandon any of my pokemon! You will feel better if you come with me..." he said, softly scratching behind the ears of the houndour as he knelt.

[Professor Gravon]

"Yeah... But I..." The houndour trailed off as it enjoyed being scratched behind the ear.

"Ok... I'll check you out then... But I know one day... you'll send me to my doom...
Do you have one... (Aaah!) of those round things I see humans carry?" Asked the houndour. It seemed to be more relaxed with Katou petting it.

[Katou]

"Yes, I do." Katou said sofly, placing a pokeball in front of the houndour. "Is this what you were talking about?" he asked softly, still scratching the houndour softly behind the ears.

[Professor Gravon]

"Yeah..." The houndour sighed.
It slugged up to the ball and unwillingly tapped it.
"Meh."

Katou picked up the pokeball, releasing the houndour from it. "I'll name you, Honoo..." Katou said holding the pup against his chest as he pet it. Keiken seemed tired so Katou returned her. He continued walking down the route.

The Breeding Farms loomed east as the path led Katou up a hill to see the places on route 1.
The Berry Forest loomed west.

[Katou]

Katou looked around the route and headed west, still carrying Honoo as he moped. ((Ugh, writers block.))

[Professor Gravon]

Up ahead however was an amazing flock of pidgey's.

[Katou]

((Sorry about not being on for a while, I just haven't had the time lately.)) Katou walked over to the flock of pidgeys, Honoo giving a sad look. He wondered what was happening. He finally decided to just ask the pidgeys, "What are you doing?"

[Professor Gravon]

(Ooc: Because you've either battled or captured a pokemon, you can move on to the next Route. You can roleplay in no more than three area's at a time. So while you are still roleplaying here, you can roleplay in the Berry Forest and Route 2.)

<Eating!> They all chirped together.
Two brave pidgey flew towards Honoo, examining him.

[Katou]

((Oh! Ok! I kinda perfer to stay in one place at a time however so I don't have to remember three places at once! Sorry for not being on again, my parents planned an unexpected vacation and I had to come along.))

Honoo gave a slight huff and slumped his head as the Pidgeys examined him. Katou, however, was more interested in the pidgeys eating style. He finally asked, "Will one of you pidgeys battle me?" Honoo's right ear twitched at the sound.
