This is the one sided conversation of a winged teenager dubbed Elk, and his multi-colored Skarmony Zaa.
The Skarmony was trying to make some sort of conversation, with no luck. So she finally subsided into a quiet fase.. and watched the road for anything coming to attack them.
Elk was far away, in another land. He was thinking of home, of his beloved.. no.. he still musnt think. The winged teen clutched the side where the pain still resides, even to this day, and hoped nothing would come. Or at least that Zaa would protect him.

Elk nearly jumped out of his skin when he heard the barking. He turned and grimaced, ready to fight whatever would come near him.
Zaa sighed and stepped in front of her trainer. She cracked her steel beak once, and rustled her multi-colored feathers. The Skarmony called out, <Who be there? Back off from my trainer!> [/size] |

Nothing appeared, though the howling and snarling continued. The sounds appeared to be multiplied, almost as if a group of these creatures were gathering. |

Elk watched the forests around him. Zaa kept close to her trainer, ready to fight if needed. The Skarmony cried out once again, <Fly away! Be gone ones who come!>
Elk was grateful. All at once, to finally have someone to help and protect him. The winged boy watched the forest, ready to flee with his protector. [/size] |

The howling grew louder, and small Pokemon began scurrying past, some crashing into Zaa and Elks legs. |

Elk immediately, as soon as seeing the creatures, leaped into the air, winged beating the wind furiously. The winged teen was seemingly petrified of the things.
Zaa cracked her wings in anger. She was extremely anger at the creatures for attacking her and her trainer. Well, she thought they were attacking. The Skarmony swept the ground with her wings, trying to trip the foe. [/size] |

The volume of the howling continued to grow, and on the horizon a group of large Pokemon could be seen. However, closer to the duo, a Vulpix had been tripped up and sat cowering in front of the imposing Skarmory, whimpering. |

Zaa stared down at the whimpering Vulpix. The Skarmony lowered her wings and studied the fire Pokemon.
<Um.. hi..> she said, then realized, this pokemon could possibly hurt her trainer.
Spreading her wings again, she cawed, <Are you here to hurt my trainer? Or for help?> She would help this Vulpix, if her trainer allowed it.
Her trainer himself was standing behind his steel Pokemon, warily watching the small Pokemon. He grimaced slightly, unsure. [/size] |

The Vulpix shuddered, its small face looking up at the Skarmory and quivering. However its fright did not allow it to answer, it could only produce a small squeak from a widened mouth. |

Zaa continued to watch the Vulpix, making sure she was between it and her trainer. Who was grasping his sword, still thinking the Vulpix was about to attack.
Elk stepped forward, standing next to Zaa, and looked at the Vulpix. Something sparked in the feeble excuse of a soul he had. "Need.. help?" he asked softly. [/size] |

Elk nodded and nodded to Zaa. The Skarmony stepped back a step, and looked down at the Vulpix. <I do not wish to harm you, unless you harm my trainer.> Zaa said respectfully.

He knew what it was like to be chased, and hated, and feared. Hesitantly, he touched the Vulpix again, glancing up once to inspect the grounds around him. Seeing nothing there, at the moment, he nodded to Zaa, who took to the air.
The Skarmony would watch from above for things. Elk would watch from below.
"Do you want to walk with us as we travel? It will be easier for us to protect you." [/size] |

Elk paused for a moment, thinking. He didnt know how to help a creature to be more confident. He didnt even know how to make himself more confident.
The trainer glanced at Zaa, who was slowly circling above him, then back at the Vulpix.

Elk took a pokeball out of his bag and tossed it towards the Vulpix. The Skarmony above him glided down close, to watch the scared creature join the team. Zaa didnt know what to think about the Vulpix, but she would have to be nice. Of course.

Elk picked the Pokeball that now contained the Vulpix up, and attached it to his belt. He didnt want to release the afraid Vulpix just yet, but soon.
Zaa slowly settled back to earth, furling her steel wings behind her.
