Finally on Route One

[Terrah (Kohaki)]

Finally. He was on his way, with a Pokemon at his side.

The Zangoose he'd recieved, which he'd named Zeriteryl, was a wonderful creature, if a bit mischievous. He was shiny, and though Kohaki knew he'd recieved a miscolored Pokemon, he couldn't help marveling at Zeri's sleek white-and-blue coat.

<Haki, I'm bored. I wanna' fight something...>
"Yeah. We'll see some Pokemon soon, I promise. I had to walk by here earlier. There are all sorts of bird pokemon I'd like to catch..."

Zeriteryl rolled his eyes. He wanted to fight, not help catch more Pokemon! Birds? They were the weakest kind, in Zeri's opinion. Some fire-types would be fine, but he wasn't sure if he could put up with a bunch of flying-types.
What a day he was in for...

[Professor Gravon]

A sentret and a HUGE pidgey were picking on a small ratatta ahead of them.

Zeriteyrl noticed the Pokemon first, and tugged lightly on Kohaki's arm.
<There are some Pokemon up there.>
Kohaki followed his Zangoose's gaze, looking at the Pidgey first, then noticing the other two.
"Hey," he called, "Leave the poor Rattata alone, would you?"

Zeriteryl stepped forward with his claws extended, eager for his first battle.
<Yeah. Pick on someone your own size.>

Kohaki rolled his eyes. This was probably another trick on Zeri's part to get the other Pokemon to attack him, but Kohaki figured it'd be okay if he could catch that Pidgey.
It was impressive, to say the least, almost the size of it's first evolved form, Pidgeotto.

[Professor Gravon]

The pidgey mud-slapped the ratatta, making it faint.
<Well aren't you the hero for saving that ratatta!> It laughed. The sentret snickered at Zeriteryl.
They both approached Zeriteryl menacingly.
<You want to take us on, huh?> The sentret leered.

[Terrah (Kohaki)]

<Bring it on,> Zeriteryl snarled. Without guidance from Kohaki, he lunged forward and used a bite attack on the Pidgey, clamping down on its wing.

"Zeri," Kohaki said, "You're supposed to wait for me to tell you what to do!"

<Anff yof woudff toll mff tff jufft shtand therr,> Zeri responded through a mouthful of feathers.

Kohaki shook his head and merely watched, waiting to see how this two-on-one battle would play out.
It surely wasn't a fair fight, but he'd seen a Zangoose in action before, and he knew how powerful they could be... but, then again, he'd never seen a Pidgey this large, and it seemed that it would also be a powerful battler.

[Professor Gravon]

The pidgey summoned a gust to release the zangoose from it's body. The sentret bounded over to the zangoose ans spear tackled the pokemon! This didn't seem fair at all! (Well do bullies ever play fair?)

Zeri attempted to dodge but was flung to the ground; he snarled and leapt back onto his feet.

"Zeri, use scratch!"

The Zangoose nodded and leapt with whirling claws towards the Pidgey, who seemed to be the bigger threat.

[Professor Gravon]

The pidgey sent another gust at zangoose. The big sentret tried to tackle the zangoose but missed and hit a tree. A sneasel fell out, annoyed at being woken!

It scratched at the sentret!

"Hey, look! A Sneasle..."

Zeriteryl rolled his eyes. Well, duh. What else did he think it was?
Angered that his attacks seemed to be doing no damage, he knocked away the gust--more or less successfully, and leapt at the Pidgey in another bite attack.
This time, however, he'd aimed for the throat.
He figured the Sneasle would help take care of the Sentret...

"Yeah, Zeri! Get 'em!"
As he cheered, Kohaki rummaged through his pack, searching for a Poke'ball. He really wanted to catch this Pidgey...

The sneasel leered and scratched at the sentret as the sentret merely just growled at the sneasel.

The big pidgey used sand attack against Zeriteryl as he bit down on the pidgey's wing!
