The boy was hardly paying attention to where he was walking. In fact, Dyl was far too busy playing around with his pokegear, trying to hack into the system for what he considered noble cause. If he could somehow access a global connection of sorts, he might be able to figure out Darkaan's number. Or maybe even Jai's. Thus far, he had been unsuccessful in his search, but had managed to uncover a great deal of other information that probably shouldn't be in the hands of the general public.
None of his pokemon were out, and Dyl was enjoying the momentary quiet. Nothing better than his too pokemon: one that didn't like him at all and another who liked him with such a passion that it was...scary. He couldn't help but hope he'd run into something that fit his needs soon. Perhaps he could trade for a pokemon like- Dyl stopped himself. No use in bringing up the past.

Ahead of him, a Mankey was diligently training itself in the art of kung-fu. He turned and saw Dyl, spiralling with a roundhouse kick.
<Hey. What's up?>

"Not much," Dyl said, "Yourself?" He was casual, just as he might be if another person had asked him the question. In fact, the teen was more interested in the Mankey's form. Dyl had taken classes in martial arts when he was younger. That was back when he had been convinced he was going to be the strongest man in the universe, before he learned that his build simply wasn't right for the job. Perhaps that is what got him into pokemon training in the first place. Pokemon were naturally gifted with the genetics needed to become the strongest of fighters.
"Could you show me that roundhouse kick again?"

<You got it!> said the Mankey. He jumped into the air, and span around with a powerful kick. He then landed on the ground, bounced off again, and performed another roundhouse kick in the air... Only, this one accidentally hit Dyl.
<Whoops!> said the Mankey. <Are you okay?>

Dyl clutched his leg where the Mankey had hit. "Uh, yeah, I'm okay," Dyl said, a pained expression on his face. "That's a strong kick you have there." It brought him back to the days at the old academy. Small for his age, Dyl had been the perfect target for the other boys. Of course, now he could probably take any of them on. If he wanted to. Oh wait. No, that was before he had had to start over.
Hearing her trainer's desperate cry for help, a bright light flashed and out came Kitty. The Glameow glared at the Mankey.
<How dare you hurt Dylly! HE'S MINE!> With that, the cat pokemon lunged at Mankey, attempting to scratch the eyes out of the pokemon that had hurt her "Dylly."

OoC: I have never laughed harder at a pokemon! I mean, it was one thing for me to create Kitty for Dyl, but the way you're roleplaying it is hiarious!
BiC:
The Mankey yawned, and then threw a super-effective karate chop attack at the Glameow. Then, he picked her up by the leg, and flipped her, sending her into the ground with Seismic Toss. He then used a roundhouse kick, to send Kitty into the air, and then used Low Kick to send her careening back...
He turned to Dyl. <That's one... possessive kitty you got there...>

ooc|| Glad you're entertained. bic|| "Sorry about that," Dyl said, though he really wasn't all that sorry, just in a polite mood at the moment, "She gets that way sometimes." He glanced at his injured pokemon, not feeling sorry in the least for her. In fact, it was hard for him to keep from laughing at the overly-possessive pokemon. Kitty who had been struck down by the Mankey was pouting in the grass, near an exceptionally large rock. The pokemon got an idea. Though weak, she managed to climb up the rock. She lunged herself at the Mankey from this higher ground, claws extended. <He's MINE! YOU can't have him. MIIIINNNNNNNNEEEE!>This time, Dylan did laugh.

The Mankey proceeded to roll into the rock, bashing both of them. The two fell apart, and lay there in the ground.
<You want to battle? Bring it on! Pussycat!>
The Mankey launched himself at the Glameow with a Karate Chop

Glameow was paying attention and managed to jump out of the way before the karate chop hit. <Pussycat?> she hissed, <I wouldn't speak so fast, PIG FACE!> Kitty licked one of her paws, extending and retracting her claws which shone in the light. She scratched them up against the now broken rock, preparing for the next time Mankey came near. Then she would show hime who the pussycat was.
Dyl simply folded his arms to his chest and watched the whole thing. He had lost any will to fight he had once possessed, but also had little desire to stop what was happening in front of him. By the looks of it, it would be over pretty quickly anyway.
ooc|| Merci.

ooc: Well, here goes...
bic: The Mankey's adorable little pig snout crinkled in anger. <OH NO YOU DI-IN'T!> he cried, spinning at the Glameow with a Low Kick. <At least I don't go chasing after little rubber mousies for entertainment!>
He had a point there.

ooc|| Okays, thankies...that makes me feel special. (Gravvie already PMed me the levels, so a mod doesn't have to do it.)
bic|| The Glameow was hit by the kick and sent flying into some nearby bushes. The poor pokemon got a sad look in her face when she realized that she was losing. Then, Kitty slanted her eyes. <I refuse to lose!> she announced softly to herself, then to the Mankey, <I will kill you!> Weakly, she jumped out of the bushes and began to walk towards the Mankey, a slight limp in her step. That creature had dared to hurt her Dylly-poo, and he was going to pay.
"Uh, it doesn't really matter," Dyl said, though he knew it wouldn't sway his pokemon's resolve. He just figured that he'd put it out there. The Glameow already had her paw up, claws out in an attempt to scratch the Mankey.

ooc: Gravvie - Wait, me or Nish or both?O.o
bic: The Manket had seen Kitty's small moment of weakness.<Ha!> it cried. <You're gonna lose! You're gonna lose!> It taunted the Glameow by leaping around the Scratch, sticking its tongue out, and Karate Chopping Kitty while she was distracted.

Poor Kitty. As she went down, Kitty moaned, <I have failed you,> and snuck one last look at the trainer she was sure would never love her now. Kitty fainted.
"Well, I can't say I wasn't expecting that one," Dyl said, "I guess I should thank you for shutting her up, at least until we get to the next pokecenter, in which case, I suppose it will be my duty as trainer to revive her. Crap. Being on the light side sucks." Of course, he was joking. Right?
Dyl returned Kitty to her pokeball. "I should be going now," he said to the Mankey, "Keep up the good training. Maybe we'll meet sometime in the future."

The Mankey saluted, then flew up (not literally! Though it's a funny image, ain't it?) into the Tree, where he looked at the Trainer. <Maybe we shall meet again...> he muttered mysteriously before making a smooth and graceful ex-<Ouch! @^#@ tree!> Never mind.

"That, we shall," Dyl said, "And then, maybe I'll give you a real fight." Maybe. The boy laughed to himself. The thought was unlikely unless he got some better pokemon on his team. And fast. The boy continued to walk down the route. It didn't occur to him that if he was attacked now, he'd be basically helpless against his assailant. That was just Dyl's way. He didn't worry about much. Things happened, and they happened around him, and they happened to him. He had spent most of his life trying to manipulate, to control these occurances. Now, he just allowed himself to be taken away by them. React as they happened. Zero planning ahead. Except when it came to his sister, whom he was still terribly worried about. But even this failed to enter his mind at times. And then, he was just there.

In the nearby lake, some shadows of water pokemon could be seen. Ahead of him, there were some pokemon rustling in a bush. It seemed as though they were arguing [/center]

Always the curious one, Dyl began to walk towards the bush. He paused a moment as he got an idea. The teen's steps slowed so that he could better control his steps, making them silent, unnoticable to the human ear. A mischievious grin crossed his face, but disappeared just as quickly. The boy had to focus on what he was doing. Every step was calculated in order to bring him exactly the right distance from the bush. Then, the boy stopped. Dylan crouched down, watching the leaves move in front of him. He bided his time, listening to the bickering pokemon, just waiting for them to get to a heated point in their argument, waiting for the perfect moment-
"BOO!"

A meowth had been standing there. Terrified, she exploded in a flurry of Pay Days, and ran off screaming, leaving ยง200 behind. Along with that, she left a pile of Berries, which she had been hauling from the Berry Tree,

Dyl shrugged and picked up the money and the berries. "That was, uh, strange." He couldn't help it. The boy burst out laughing. For about three seconds, Dylan found himself loving life. Everything seemed perfect at the moment, as if the planets in his life had aligned perfectly. Everything was fine. Perhaps this would be okay after all.
