<...which is why we're travelling, and why we're looking for this trainer. We've also established a no-heirarchy heirarchy, where Nero is the one in charge, but if need be, any one of us can take control. Clio doesn't often, so most of the time it's me, but it would be nice to see another strong-willed friend...>
It was only when Ninurta turned around, that he noticed Tems had fallen asleep.
Clio playfully yipped... <Come on, Temper, wake up,>
Tems opened a lazy eye. <Wha-? Is he finished?>
Cliodna rolled her eyes. <Finally!>
"Shh!"
Nero stopped them. He was looking at a sign.
<So, where do we go?> said Nin.
"We're going to the Lapras Shrine for a quick visit."
And off they went, taking a detour on their path...
((I've posted there. Just don't lose my post))
EDIT: This is an OPEN thread. Character interaction would be nice. But only once I return from the Lapras shrine. So reoly there and finish up my visit, and then anyone can join Nero, Nin, Clio and Tems for a bit.

Tems and Nin raced each other back to the crossing, Nero padding alongside Cliodna. As they approached the sign, Cliodna joined the pokemon.
Nero turned to Clio.
"You're currently the weakest one here... so I think it's time to train you a little bit, okay? Just so you can hold your own. After all, you want to impress your old pack, don't you?"
<You mean we're going to see them again?> Clio's eyes widened.
"Well, since Rhiannon wasn't in, I need to see Rahab, and to see Rahab, I need 7 Gym Badges. After the Shellau Gym, we'll pop in for a visit, but only if you're strong enough." Nero turned to Tems. "Fly ahead, Tempeste, and see if there are any pokemon for Clio to battle."
Tems flew ahead, keeping in sight of Nero at all times, when...

Three Buneary were playing what seemed to be their own version of ring around the rosie in the middle of the route. They spun round and round, grasping hands until, inevitably, they all fell down. When they could finally catch their breath, they'd jump up once more and start their insane game all over again, the whole time chanting what seemed to be, "Berry."
A pidgey watched from a tree up above, laughing at their game. Eventually, the bird lost his balance and fell from the tree. He was laughing too hard to stop himself and hit the ground with a thud! Pidgey fainted.

If the Buneary were stupid enough to continually become dizzy, they can't have been strong.
Which meant that Clio could beat them easily.
"Umm, guys! guys!" Nero huffed as he ran to the strange game, disregarding the Pidgey...
"I need to train my Vulpix, Cliodna," Clio preened herself, "Do you mind if she battles you?"
Clio yelped, and a small ember poured from her mouth. Ninurta stayed with Clio, but Tem went over to Clio's side.
<Are you sure you won't need any help?>
Nin eyed her suspiciously.
<Are you being...nice?>
Tems turned.
<Only to my little sister, you have to earn my respect.>
Clio felt warm and fuzzy, well, as a vulpix, she was warm and fuzzy, but she felt warm and fuzzy on the inside, she had a sister.
<I'm going to do it for you, sis> she giggled.
She turned, anxiously awaiting the Bunearies' decision.

The Buneary, however, either didn't hear the request because they were too dizzy, or chose to ignore it because they were too busy. The pokemon continued their nonsensical spinning game, seemingly unaware of the trainer and his pokemon. Finally, they fell down once more, but this time a bit too hard. One of them fainted.
<OMIGOSH!> one of the Buneary's screamed, <FLOWER'SDEAD!> For the first time, the pokemon seemed to notice Nero. <YOU! YOUKILLEDHER!>

"Oh, brother," Nero rolled his eyes. He wondered if there was a PokeAsylum. Still... "If you're going to accuse us, we'll take you on. Since there are two of you, we can double battle," Nero had a plan... Time for "Quality Bonding"
"Clio, Tems, Show them what you're made of!"
<Right sis?> <Anything for you, kid>
Ninurta watched from the sidelines.
"Clio, cover your ears, Tempeste, Sing attack!"
Clio burrowed her head in the bushes, while Tems' melody echoed through the air, in the hope of lulling the buneary to sleep. Nero was covering his ears. He looked at Nin. "Aren't you gonna-"
<Unown have no ears>
"Of course..."
He redirected his attention to the battle. "Now, Clio, Ember, at both of them..."
He hadn't been paying attention. He wasn't even sure they were asleep...

ooc|| "<Unown have no ears>" - Best line ever.

Both Buneary danced to the music (if spinning in circles can be called "dancing") until the collapsed, asleep. The two pokemon snored, oh so peacefully making it hard to tell them apart from the one that had previously fainted.
The music seemed to have some sort of healing effect on the fainted Pidgey. The bird pokemon flew up into the sky, as if under some strange transe and disappeared over the horizon.

"<Unown have no ears>" - Best line ever. QFT BIC: The sleeping buneary made easy targets, and Clio was keen to gain levels. <All right, Double ember coming up!>The double ember spiralled towards the sleeping Buneary. But Tems wasn't going to miss out. She lauched a Peck attack at them, striking them vivaciously, all the while in their slumber. Nin was cool and laid-back as usual... <Hyperactive Killer Bunny Rabbits, how droll>Nero couldn't help smiling...

As they were asleep, the Bunearies couldn't attack back. Being rather weak creatures, they fainted. In their sleep. And they dreamed of falling Jelly Beans.
Clio gained 1 level! Tems gained 1/2 level!
An Ekans slithered up ahead. It seemed to be enjoying the sun. The pokemon stuck out its tongue, sensing another creatures presense. The pokemon turned, stuck out its tongue for another brief moment. Its eyes seemed to focus on Nero and his pokemon, but the snake had very poor eyesight and only saw blobs. "Ek?"

Clio learned Roar!
"All right, Clio, this one's yours!" said Nero, utterly confident in his Vulpix. "And mine too, if I can catch it..."
Clio used a growl attack on the ekans, hoping to intimidate it.
Ninurta just watched, as usual, and Tempeste wandered off again.
Once she was out of Nero's sight, the oddest thing happened...

Ekans didn't even seem to notice the growl attack. The pokemon did however, zero in on the user of said attack. The snake slithered closer, sticking its tongue out from time to time to give it a sense of distance. Then, when it felt that it was close enough, the pokemon opened its mouth and shot poisonous stingers at Vulpix. Ekans hissed at the other pokemon, warning it to keep its distance.

Clio screamed in pain as the stings hurt her.
Tempeste came zooming back, her wings got caught in the bushes, and all she could do was watch.
"Clio! Ember, Now!" said Nero, a bead of sweat running down his face.
Another ember attack was released...
OOC: Can I add that Tems songs have healing effects on Trivia on my poke's page?

Although the pokemon was hardly hit, it was burned. Ekans slithered away a bit before releasing more stings at the Vulpix, hissing the whole time, wishing that it could be somewhere else, anywhere else at that moment. Its tail throbbed, and it wanted nothing else but to cool it. The pokemon noticed the lake up ahead, and deciding that that would be the perfect place to rest, retreated toward the body of water just as fast as its little snake self could take it.
ooc|| I dunno. Perhaps it has healing effects on other flying types?

ooc|| Gotcha
"Oh no, no you don't!"
Nero pulled out a pokeball, and threw it at the ekans. it was burned. Did that mean easier to catch?
Meanwhile, Tempes had broken free from the branches. It saw the poison stings heading towards Clio, and leapt in front, taking the brunt of the attack. She became poisoned...
Tears began to well up in Clios eyes. <No! Sis, don't! Just, sing yourself better! Please! PLEASE!>
A feeble note escaped Tem's beak.
<We must transport her to a Pokemon Center forthwith... Shellau Town is nearby!>
Nero turned to the pokeball... hoping he had caught the ekans.

The Ekans, however, was not yet weak enough to be caught, and continued until it reached the lake. The pokemon dipped its tail into the water and instantly felt better. It stuck out it's tongue to try and figure out if the boy and his pokemon were still pursuing. Just in case, the pokemon prepared to fire more poison stings. It was in a sore mood in the moment (but you would be too if your tail had been burned.)

Much as Nero wanted to, he couldn't. He had to get to Shellau Town to heal his pokemon. He could train there.
Tempestes Groaned...
and Clio began to cry again.
Slowly, Nero walked down the path to Shellau Town...
