The numel, in it's rage tried to tackle again but Trish's mach punch got it first right in the face! It did two backward somersaults and got up dazed, (even though it naturally looked dazed).
It grunted. It felt much weaker so it used an ember attack. It didn't like how this small pokemon seemed to be unpredictable.

Trish just smiled and laughed. Then she flew over and landed on Marco's head. Apparently the little pokemon didn't feel like battling anymore. She began to suck on her trainer's hair again.
"Aren't you gonna finish this fight?"
The Togetic shook her head and smiled.

The numel still wasn't happy. It tried to tackle Trish again, even though it just flew to Marco's shoulder!

Marco was tackled, and hit the ground hard. Great. His arms and legs had been scratched up quite bad. The boy began to hyperventilate. Man, this was a terrible time to be a hemopheliac.
Trish watched her trainer fall. She had flown of his shoulder right before the Numel hit. And now that Numel was gonna pay. How dare he attack her Marky-warky. Trish used metronome- Trish used Strength. Ah, that was helpful...or not. The little pokemon lifted the nearest boulder, and tossed it at the Numel.

(Ooc: You're lucky the spearow and numel are weak! You should train your pokemon before you attempt other routes at the Training Arena. Otherwise strong pokemon will overpower your team.)
<Hugh!> It grunted. In it's final desperation it threw an ember attack at Trish!

ooc|| Yesh...only it's more interesting this way. *evil grin* -Compliments Marco's personality better... Meh, don't worry... I'll get Jai to have a nice powerhouse team.
bic||
Trish was close enough to the ember for it to be abnormally effective. The little pokemon cried out and pretended to faint. She just didn't feel like battling any more. Marco was too busy trying to get to his bag to bother finding another pokemon to fight.
Marco finally reached his bag and began looking through it as fast as he could. He needed to find something to treat his cuts with. It took longer than he would have liked. Finally, he found what he was looking for- a vial. He dripped some of it's contents onto his cuts. Now his blood should clot properly.

The numel, now falling for Trish's acting, felt satisfied. It poked out it's tongue at her and turned around. It waddled off ever so wearily.

Trish stuck her tongue back out at the pokemon, forgetting to play dead for a moment.
"That was weird," Marco said. He looked down the Fiery path. The boy seriously didn't feel like continuing, at least not under these conditions. "Why don't we stop for lunch?" he asked. It was a rhetorical question, but all of his pokemon answered in the affirmative anyways. Marco sat down at the side of the path, the closest thing he could find to shade. Then he retrieved some (somewhat squashed but still edible) food from his pack.

A huge roar came far off in the disance. Sounded like the flaming gyarados! *shudders* A flock spearow flew off in terror at the sound.

Marco scooched closer to the rock he was leaning against. "Maybe we should just sit here for a while- listen to the Spearow sing or something." The boy's pokemon gave him funny looks. It was obvious that the last of the Spearows had just flown off. Marco was just about to feel relieved about not being attacked by whatever had made that sound when he noticed something was missing...where the heck was Sparkle? "Sparkle?" Marco half called, half whispered. The boy knew exactly where his pokemon had went- exactly where he didn't want to be: straight towards whatever had made the roar.
He didn't really want to, but Marco got up and headed down the path after his pokemon.

(Ooc: The flaming gyarados CANNOT be caught! It's TWICE the size of a steelix!)
Sparkle was down by some huge lava falls, by the gigantic cliffs of Inferno Peak. There was quite a fiery lake in front of him! The place made Sparkle look rather small. The roar from the lava falls made it really hard for anyone to hear someone speak!
Sparkle just witnessed the flaming gyarados submerge into the lava lake! And he wanted to see the magnificent Flaming Gyarados again!

ooc|| I'm sure Marco will be rather pleased by that....
bic||
Marco ran after his pokemon. While he ran, the boy mumbled something along the lines of, "Why does it always happen to me, why me?" He had thought that the Fiery Path had been hot, but it was nothing compared to this. Marco was sweating hard.
<OOOHHH! WEWE AWE WE?>
<I DUNNO! LET'S ASK MAWCO!>
<WEWE AWE WE MAWKO?>
"How should I know?"
Why was it that the Pidgey brothers always seemed to appear at the worst time possible?

The deafening roar of the massive lava falls seemed to intensify. The lava lake that they were standing not far from was somehow behaving more liquid as they spoke...

Marco finally caught up with his Onix.
"Shouldn't we get going?" the boy asked, looking nervously at the sputtering lava around him. The roar of the lava falls was making him less secure than ever. He climbed on the back of his crystal Onix, whisling just a little, trying to forget for the fifth time that day exactly how dangerous what he was doing was. "Maybe we should just leave right now..."
<No, I'm sure I heard something,> the Onix said.
<OOOOHHH!!! SPAWKLY HEWD SOMETHING!>
So, the band of misfits continued on.

CRASSSSSSSSSH!!! THE HUGE LAVAFALL PARTED! "ROOOOAARRR!!!" The flaming gyarados' fiery intensity radiated a heatwave from it's head as it poked its head out from the falls. All the lava was now flowing as smoothly as water. With it's souless black eyes, it focussed it's attention on Sparkle!

"Oh..." Marco said (well...he said some other stuff too. Let's just not repeat it, 'kay?) For some reason, it seemed like the temperature had increased a great deal. Either way, Marco was sweating much harder. "Uh, hey little guy...big guy. I, uh, come in peace. Yeah, peace is good. Very good." The boy ran his hand through his hair uncomfortably, hoping the Gyarados would take a hint. "Yeah, we're friends, not food...yeah." Marco glanced behind him. He'd have run if he thought he had the slightest chance. Unfortunately, he didn't think he had the slightest chance.
Sparkle looked at the menacing Gyarados, not sure of what to do. It might not be as easy to weasel his way out of this one.
<OOOHH!!! WHAT'S THAT BIG FIEWY THING?>
<IT'S SCAWY!>
<I DON'T LIKE SCAWY THING!>
Great. Just great.
ooc|| Wow, that sprite is uber-cool!

(Ooc: Thanks! Wait til you see the aerodemon of the Valley of Death!)
It extended it's neck to look closely at Sparkle. Over the roar of the lavafall, it could not hear what Marco was saying. Might be a good idea to move and get away before it does something nasty.

ooc|| Sounds good...if I ever get that far... And sorry for not really modding Kantex. I kind of have my hands full with my own board.
bic||
"Uh...maybe we should go..." Marco said, more than a little afraid.
Sparkle just nodded. Normally, the pokemon would be anxious to get into any kind of battle. But under the circumstances, he was less than ready to fight. The pokemon zoomed off at speeds unthought of, surprising for someone of his size. Marco just barely caught his tail and was dragged along with his tail.

Sparkle randomly gained a level!
As they came out, lava emerged from the lake and followed close behind them. What the?

ooc|| Good. By the looks of it, he's gonna need it.
bic||
"Uh, could you go any faster?" Marco asked, glancing back at the lava that was following them. The Onix seemed to already be going at an unbelievably fast pace, however, somehow, the pokemon managed to increase his speed once again. The two Pidgeys...well, they weren't as lucky.
<WAIT FOW US!> one of them screamed as they flapped their under-developed wings as fast as they could.
<WAIT MAWKO, WAIT!>

The lava caught up to them but was passing them rather urgently! <Slug-slug-slug-ug-ug-ma-ma-MA!>
They were being overtaken by a wave of fearful slugma. The flaming gyarados scared quite an audience!

"AUGHHHHH!!!" Marco yelled. If there was one thing he hated, if there was one thing that freaked him out more than anything, it was those hideous slugma. He had seen two of them earlier on the route. That had been bad. This was like bad times a thousand. The boy screamed again, just for good measure.

A torchic swooped from a high rock and scratched at a slugma. It was practicing on it so it could grow!

Marco stopped screaming for a moment to examine the torchic. It was amazing how such small wings could support it in the air. It wasnt that scary. Heh. Maybe these slug-things weren't so bad after all. And, seeing the Torchic attack the Slugma gave Marco an idea!
"I have an idea," Marco announced. He threw the rest of his pokeballs, releasing any pokemon that wasn't already out. "Okay, let's attack those things." Marco's pokemon gave him blank stares. Attack? The only one who moved was Sparkle who tackled the nearest Slugma.

(The special ability 'Diamond hide' I have come to realise, is too good an ability. Instead of being immune to attacks, may those attacks only be 'not very affective'. Thanks!)
The slugma that Sparkles tackled fainted instantly. However, a slugma embered Sparkles! Super effective!
Two slugma paired up on the pidgey brothers, both releasing emer attacks at Fwee. One tackled Trish, another leered at Marco's houndour.
The torchic didn't seem to like Marco's pokemon practicing either.
