A burnt smell blew across Tyson. The offering blew in the wind, landing scattered around him. <The Song, as soft as air, the Fire, stronger than all. Death is just despair. The end, the curtain fall. Find the song, the fire, the death and despair. Where the darkness rises, never to fall again....>

Tyson nodded. "Wow. That's deep." heading back to town, he noticed a black cloud of smog. Running hard he headed for Route 3.

Dylan appeared at the shrined, teleported by Atlas. Quetzal was still in his arms. He walked slowly towards the shrine before placing three things in front of it: $1000 An Oran Berry A Pokeball "Lapras. I've come with the berry you requested. But, there seems to be a more...pressing matter. I caught a pokemon, contained in that ball. She's been wounded by something- something dark, something powerful..." Dylan suddenly stopped talking. Dark. Powerful.Flames. Darkness.
"This won't hurt one bit or at least not very much," Georgina said, as if to comfort him. Or maybe it was George. Dyl never could tell the two apart, though he heard others swear that they could.
"Just do it," he heard himself say, "Haven't got all day here."
"Okay, just a little longer." The other twin came, holding a syringe. "Now, hold still."
<Are you sure this is a good idea?> Cherry. She was the one with all the sense.
"What's it to you?"Dylan mentally beat himself up about his words now. He realized that it must have hurt Cherry to watch. They had been so close. Had been. Before. He was just so dang apathetic at that moment. He wished more than anything that he could go back and change it. But- The needle pierced his skin. The twins had lied. This was the most excruciating pain imaginable. It was as if his whole body were morphing into some sort of monster. Perhaps it had. But Dylan hadn't cried out. He hadn't cared. He had almost enjoyed it- enjoyed the pain.
"We're almost done now."
Another lie. The entire process would take more than an hour- something that had seemed like both an eternity and no time at all to Dyl. As the first one to contract their parasitic disease, he was the guinea pig. He had received a less advanced version, not as easy to transmit, not as easy to cure.Dylan was finally able to break his flashback. He would have hated to see what would have come next. For the first time, he realized how much pain his pokemon must have been in in that moment. "I'm really hur- I mean, the pokemon, the one I caught in the volcano, she's really hurt. Would you be able to heal her? Oh. And the berry- that's for the poison pokemon you promised me last time." The boy stood silently, wondering if he had asked too much from the shrine. ooc|| For Nishy to reply to.

There was a sudden, sharp, icy wind. "The wound is infected. It is beyond my power to heal. However, I will remove the Shardakk traces. Train her as normal. When she reaches level 33, she will be fully healed. As she grows, new tissues will help heal the wound, leaving only a scar. As for the berry, very well. Your poison pokemon is here..."All of a sudden, a pokeball fell to the dusty earth, opening, and revealing a Croagunk! "Thank you," Dylan said, taking the pokeball containing his new pokemon. A moment later, he was gone.
ooc|| What do you mean level 33? She's already at level 33.

((Allow me to explain. It was important for dramatic purposes that it be a camerupt, but numel evloves at level 33. Therefore, I wrote a plot point about the wound halving it's strength. So you calculate everything as though it was level 16, since otherwise it would have been overly powerful compared to Dyl's other characters. Now, the wounds no longer infected. so it will heal. However, that means that you must level Aagi up, and as your Camerupt grows, the wounds slowly heal. So It's actually level 33, but it acts as though it's level 16, and you need to train it back up to tip-top shape.))

Ash and Lucario walked up to the Lapras shrine. Both had a sorrowful expression as Ash gave $800 to the Shrine.
"Lapras, not two hours, we found a badly hurt Charmander, and we are very concerned for it. I wish that you could help us heal it, or something like that. I don't want the little guy dieing. I just want it to live and be strong."
Ash bent his head. Luc did the same after a moment. Beth hoped that Lapras would help them. [/sub]

That wasn't really the answer to his wish. He wanted help healing it, not knowing it would survive. It was still good news. Ash sighed, and was about to speak, until Luc spoke, and it was about the opposite of what Ash was going to say.
<Hey, we wanted help healing it. All you did was tell us it would survive. Sure, we are grateful for it, but could you be a little more con...
Ash tackled Lucario, shutting him up. Hopefully Lapras wouldn't hold it against him. Luc was just being considerate about a pokemon. [/sub]

It was just before dawn when a lone figure walked up the steps to the Lapras Shrine. Ash was alone today, for Lucario was still dreaming at the pokemon center. Ash had but one wish that he wanted fulfilled, and hopefully the shrine would grant him this.
O' great Lapras, I have a wish that I would like fulfilled. I have $600 to offer.Ash placed the money into the basket. [/b] I wish for a male Kirila. to become our partner. I wish for this because I feel that he would be of much help in our later battles. Please help us with this, great Lapras.[/b] Ash took a step back and waited for the soothing voice. He knew he was getting a Scyther, but he didn't know when. All he knew is that it would be soon. The Riolu would be of much help when he leveled up, and so would the Scyther.[/center][/sub]

Nothing happened, and the minutes ticked by.Finally the wind picked up and carryed a spicy sent in it. "Ahh young one? How much are you willing to give in return for this pokemon you want?" A voice asked in the wind,It seemed different from the normal sliky voice heard at the shrine. It was more of a motherly, kind voice. "Only those willing to give, all that they have, had or will have can become the best of trainers. So how much will you give?" The voice asked moments later.

I offer $600, plus food, home, friends, and a good family. All of my pokemon are happy, and I never had to get on through force. I take care of my friends, and make sure that they are always happy. I will give myself for my pokemon.
Ash looked to the sky, thinking about how he pushed himself to exhaustion and then some to save Riolu. Ash was lucky he had friends to help him, human and pokemon. In the end, he saved Riolu from freezing to death, and their bond is closer than anyone thought possible, and that is beyond what aura can do between the two of them. [/sub]

<Hmm...give yourself for your pokemon? Is this true?> came the voice in the wind.
The breeze became stronger. It was cold; there was a bone-chilling, death-like feel to it. The violent wind shook the entire forest before dying down again.
<Is this true?> came the soft voice of the wind, once more.

I care for all pokemon, and I would do all I could for them. It is true that I would. I wish for my pokemon to be happy no matter what.
Ash didn't like how the wind picked up, and how it felt. The hair on the back of his neck stood up. He wished Luc was with him right now. He closed his eyes and lowered his head, despite what could happen. Ash opened himself to aura, and sensed what was going on around the area. [/sub]

Ash's aura picked up something on the other side of the lake.
The wind became violent again, and suddenly, Ash was able, just for a moment, to feel the confusion and pain of a pokemon. It felt as though he was being held under water- the cold, unforgiving lake. <Help!> cried a tiny voice from the water. Then, the feeling was gone and the wind had died down again.
<Give yourself,> the Lapras in the wind repeated, <Go to the lake- you know where. Your pokemon awaits you..if it isn't too late.>

Lillian! Go help that pokemon!
Ash drew his Luvdics's pokeball and tossed it in the air. Lillian then dove into the lake. Ash jumped off the shrine and ran as fast as he could around the boarder of the lake. Years of running and training turn Ash's body into mostly muscle, and endless miles of running gave him the endurance to sprint most of the way around the lake. Once he was close to where he felt the pokemon, he jumped into the lake, Swimming at a good pace. When he was right there the pokemon should be, he dove under, Lillian next to him, and Ash using aura to see while his eyes were closed. [/sub]

The lake, like the wind, was violent and cold. The water seemed to eat at Ash's bones as he swam through the waves.
The water moved in a strange way, pushing at Ash in all directions. His aura picked up something new now- not just the struggling Kirlia, but that which trapped it. A large, tempest-like pokemon- Gyarados. The rage-filled beast was the one making the water so unpredictable.
Help! Kirlia's feelings were once again made known to Ash.

Ash couldn't give orders while under water, so he trust that Lillian would do the right thing. He couldn't even get close to the Kirila due to the rushing, cold water. Lillian was trying to use tackle or takedown, but with little success. Finally, he became and used surf, regardless of what would happen to everyone. Ash just focused on getting to the Kirila. His lunges were burning for air, but he did not go to the surface, for fear that if he did, it would be too late for the Kirila. [/sub]

Unfortunately, the Gyrados was much larger and at a much higher level than the Luvdisc. The attacks seemed to do nothing to the ever more violent waves. Then, the monster swam before Ash's eyes. It was headed downward, Kirlia caught in mouth. The Gyrados disappeared into the depths of the lake.
The cries of the Kirlia became more faint.

Most people would have left the Kirila for dead, but Ash was being stubborn, and after swimming away from the large pokemon, grabbed onto Lillian and ad her swim downwards to the Gyrados. Thinking as fast as he could, he took one pokeball and one ultraball off his belt. They were empty, and Ash had one shot at this before it was too late. What he was going to do was get the Gyrados in one pokeball, and he would no doubt break out, well, at least that would be what would most likely happen, and with the second pokeball, would get the Kirila in it so that it would be safe.
The only big down part to this was that the Gyrados would be pissed as ever if it broke out, so Lillian and Ash had to work fast. [/sub]

The Gyrados thrashed madly within the water. Then, something seemed to possess the pokemon and it turned around and stared straight at ash. The dragon opened its mouth wide in a sort of evil grin, simultaneously releasing the Kirlia from its grasp. It made one violent turn, and then, another. The gyrados was swimming in circles now, faster and faster and faster. The pokemon had created a twister, and Kirlia was caught in the middle of it.

Ash 'stared,' right back at the Gyrados, and felt a tingle at the back of his neck. He let go of Lillian and spun himself under the water. It was hard to do, but with the Gyrados spinning, the runoff of the whirlpool caught Ash and helped him, as well as pull him closer. When he thought he was spinning fast enough, Ash let go of the ultraball, and prayed that it would touch the Gyrados, and allow the Kirila to get to the other one. This was far fetched, at best, and only luck would play a hand in this.
((I changed on of the pokeballs into and ultraball. I reread the Christmas contest thing, and remembered that I had one, so yea, It makes me all warm and fuzzy now.)) [/sub]

Ash's plan seemed to work as the Gyrados was scooped up in a whirling red light. The pokeball sunk as it shook. The twister that the dragon had created was dying down now. The water only tossed a little, evidence that something greater had once been there. The Kirlia began to float upwards, little bubbles rising along with it. Rays of sunlight streamed through the water, giving the rising pokemon an almost heavenly appearance.

Lillian looked at Ash, and he signaled her to grab the ultraball floating towards the bottom. Even if, more than not, when, the Gyrados breaks out, it was still usable. Ash himself swam to the Kirila, tapping the pokeball to him so that he would live to see the ground again. Now he himself needed to get out before he ran out of air. Lillian made it to the ultraball and grabbed it in his mouth, red light blinking.
((We all know that little light. Its all funny and stuff.)) [/sub]

Both pokeballs continued to shake as Ash swam towards the surface.
Then, the Gyrados broke free. It glared at Ash once more, but this time it didn't attack. Rather, it swam down, down, deeper and deeper into the lake until it disappeared into the blackness.
