Lillian was pushed back from the backwash, then, grabbed the ball again. She made it to Ash the second he broke to the surface. He took a deep breath and started swimming to the beach, Lillian next to him. [/sub]

Lillian gained 2 levels!
The pokeball continued to shake as Ash swam. The Kirlia must have been pretty strong to have withstood the Gyrados and the capsule which now attempted to capture it.

Lillian stayed in the water as Ash crawled onto the land, still holding the shaking pokeball. He didn't let it go, but just held it in his hands. The gentle drip of water came from Ash seemed too loud in the tense air. [/sub]

The pokeball didn't hold. A flash of light and a moment later, a very exhausted Kirlia appeared. The poor thing was breathing heavily, but at the same time, glaring at Ash.
<You know that I could have taken that monster,> he said.
A second later, an Aipom fell out of a tree because it was laughing so hard.

Ash ignored the Aipom. Lillian sent a small water gun at it, soaking the monkey pokemon.
"That may be, but we were just here to help you out. You ok?

The Aipom stuck his tongue out at Lillian.
<I could have taken that monster all on my own,> the Kirlia said again, <I didn't need any help.>
Well, he had a funny way of saying thank-you.

Lillian smiled and shot the Aipom again. Ash smiled and looked at the Kirila again.
You could have, but we wanted to help you out, my feisty friend. We all need help every now and then, and friends are always there to help. [/sub]

The Aipom stuck his tongue out even further and blew it at the Luvdisc. When he realized that it wouldn't go any further, a strange thing happened: the Aipom transformed into a Lickitung. The pink pokemon reached its long tongue out and patted the Luvdisc with it.
<Well, I don't need any friends, and I don't need any help,> the Kirlia insisted. <Thanks, but save your charity for some other pokemon.>

Everyone needs friends, even you. How would you like to become friends with us and travel around with us?
Ash smiled and held out his hand to the Kirlia. Lillian jumped out of the water, splashing the now Lickitung.
((Are you setting it up for me to get a ditto as well?)) [/sub]

The good kind. So, are you in with us?
Ash smiled and kept his hand extended. Lillian, jumped out of the water and started swimming around the Lickitung, enjoying herself.

The king that every pokemon likes. Mainly fresh fruits and stuff like that. I always make sure I have everything necessary for my friends, and every now and then, you all get little treats. Trust me, you would like it.
Ash smile broaden as he picked up the pokeball the Kirila broke out of, and held it up for him to take. [/sub]

<Fresh Fruit?> The Kirlia's eyes got wide with excitement. He had a certain weakness for fresh fruit. And taunting Gyarados with them, but that was a completely different story. <Fine,> the pokemon finally agreed. <But there's fruit- lot's of it, right? I expect to be paid in fruit every day, I hope you know that.>

Everyone loves apples. I always make sure we have some. So, you in with us? [/sub][/b]

OOC: for all intents and purposes, i'm saying Lao came here after Ash dealt with his stuff, k?
IC:
Lao walked up to the Lapras shrine, and placed $1000 in the bowl, and knelt before the shrine.
"Lapras Shrine, I come seeking your advice. In this world, there are those who wander it with great power, Pokemorps, Psychics, and those capable of useing a force known as 'Aura'. I have spent much of my time dealing with these people, recently, and I am tired of being weak. Is there a way for me to gain my own power? I am tired of people always able to defeat me, using their powers...Please, help me."

ASH:
<I dunno,> the Kirlia said between bites, <Define adventure.> The pokemon was stalling for time.
---
LAO:
A strange wind blew past Lao; a voice in the wind, "So, it is power you seek?" Then, the voice and the wind were gone. But, a great Lapras now stood before Lao. The pokemon was calm but its presence commanded respect. It stared at Lao, both gentleness and strength it its eyes. Then, it spoke in a human voice.
"A great teacher once said, 'Knowing others is intelligence; knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength; mastering yourself is true power.' Learn this young one, learn this."
A moment later, the great Lapras had disappeared.
ooc|| Ironically enough, that quote is attributed to a man by the name of Lao Tzu.

Lao sat there, awed by the fact that the Lapras had actually appeared to him. Then, the awe wore off as he realized that the Lapras had given him nothing more than a riddle.
"Wait, Lapras! I do not understand...But, I suppose that I will in time, no?"
Somewhat Disheatened, Lao turned and began to leave.

We travel the land, winning battles and helping those less fortunate than us. So, will you join us?
Ash's golden eyes never left the Kirila's face. He knew that it wouldn't be able to stand the call for adventure... No one could. [/sub]

LAO:
There was no response. Then, something dropped from the sky in front of Lao.
Lao found Composition Notebook and Number Two Pencil!
Best of luck young one. Or maybe it was just the wind.
---
ASH:
<But, the food,> the Kirlia said, <Tell me about the food.>

Like I said, lots of fruit and veggies. Some special treats are also in the bundle deal.
Ash cocked his head slightly at the Kirila lack of joining him. [/sub]
