Vain-Glory, slithered into the satanic tyranitar's shadow... Darkaan motioned for it to leaf-blade it under it's belly. Vain-Glory waited for the tyranitar to strike before he did.
Darkaan, feeling much stronger as a trainer and his abilities, was not about to be intimidated by another satanic giant! He was going to conquer this pokemon and do what ever he could do to it!

The Tyranitar didn't seem interested in attacking, only glaring at or past the boy and his pokemon. Then, she seemed to focus on Darkaan. The giant pokemon picked up one of her feet and stomped it onto the ground, a little closer to Darkaan. The whole room shook like a mini earthquake. However, Tyranitar was gone. She had disappeared without a trace; giant imprints in the ground were the only evidence of her previous existance. Darkaan was left alone in the room with his pokemon, a door on either side.

Darkaan embraced the quake. Marco and Thundigar seemed to come out a bit injured from the quake. Darkaan trembled but desperately looked through the floor for Balthazar's ball...
"Oh know! I asked her to help me restore him! Not take him away!" He thought. Did he just have his Arcanine taken from him? That cost him a fire stone and a lot of training!
"He was determined not to get the spooks until he found that ball... It must be in the darkness of the room somewhere." He thought. "Must have rolled there."

(Marco's gone this weekend... erm...)
The pokeball was indeed shrouded in shadow. It seemed to have rolled into the corner of a wall that cast a dark shadow upon it.
The doors seemed to beckon Darkaan to be opened. There seemed to be quite a mystery about them. Yet the tyranitar's quake seemed to take it's toll... as the place continued to tremble (the occasional dirt or smal rock fall from the roof), their came a massive roar from the centre wall.

Hastily he swiped Balthazar's pokeball off the floor and pocketed it as a rock narrowly missed his hands... He quickly looked at the doors and didn't like the feel of them. They felt haunted or cursed.
But he realised he had no option but to choose a door. And what was that roar he could hear coming from the wall? He opened the door to his left, not closing it, but peeked through it to see what the source of the rumbhle was.
'I could be buried under here!' He thought horrified.

The thought was deffinately a possibility. When Darkaan opened the door, it revealed a large Onix (thrice the size of a normal one) with similar dark markings to the Tyranitar. The pokemon glared at him, obviously not happy. It had a crazed expression on its face, making it seem even more beastly.
Onix flailed at the sight of Darkaan, his massive tail hitting up against the walls of the tiny enclosure. More debris fell. If Darkaan didn't escape soon, he'd be dead meat (meant in the most literal sense possible.)

All sense of danger around him was gone as he looked at the huge beast like a prize.
Dirt from the ceiling fell on his face but he didn't budge, he released VainGlory and held a pokeball ready. He was going to catch it. He really wanted onix on his team. And this time he was ready for satanic pokemon... His victreebel was the answered prayer to his vulnerability to satanic pokemon.
"VAINGLORY! LEAFBLADE!" He yelled. Without hesitation his assassin moving pitcher plant moved for the first strike!

As the leaf hit it, the onix's normal coal-like appearance changed to a metalic steel shade, deflecting most of the attack. It stopped flailing against the walls and focused its attention on Darkaan and his pokemon. Glaring, the pokemon let out a roar, which rumbled the enclosure. Then, a sticky tar-like substance was expelled from the pokemon's boulders, as if it were rotting away, though it stayed the same size. A putrid smell came from the black substance, no doubt poisonous.

Whatever the poisonous substance was that eminated from the onix's hide, Vain-Glory didn't seem to think much of. It launched a leech seed attack while Darkaan called him to use Leaf Blade again. Vain-Glory knew itself better then Darkaan did and after releasing the seeds, it cracked it's whipvine and when on it's way to leaf blade the onix...

The poisonous substance continued to leak out of the Onix. It had a red-ish tint, like blood, but was darker than that. The grass attacks hardly did any damage at all. Perhaps this pokemon, despite his appearance, did not fit under the rock type. Perhaps his weaknesses were different too.
Onix seemed to suddenly forget Vain Glory's pressence, and continued to thrash around randomly.

Darkaan wasnt sure what the onix was doing, so he commanded Vain-Glory.
"Vain-Glory! Use spore NOW!!!" The sporous vapour was sprayed right in the face of the onix.

As the Onix thrashed around, some of the spores got into its sensitive eyes. Instantly, the pokemon stopped thrashing and began to slightly glow, as pokemon do when they evolve. But instead of growing, the pokemon began to shrink- devolving? In a final burst of light, the figure separated into two forms, one which was humanoid, the other one a normal-sized Onix. The human-like being was thrown up against one of the corners of the room in a heap. The Onix, who had now regained it's normal coloration was resting his head on the ground and staring curiously at Darkaan and Vainglory neither of which he seemed to recognize. The only thing that could separate this pokemon from any other Onix was the markings on one of the boulders of its tail- very similar to the ones that Darkaan had seen on the door.
The human figure moved slightly. It was a boy, perhaps a couple years older than Darkaan. He didn't look it though, curled up in a fetal position, no doubt in pain.

Darkaan stared, dumstruck at the scenario before him. "What is this?" Vain-glory didn't seem to care about the scene before them and stared at the other door. He was itching for another fight. He was fired up. With a crack of his whip-like tendril he cut the other door down.
Darkaan wasn't focussing on his victreebel as he became concerned for the crumpled figure and the onix. He still wanted that onix, but he was more concerned for the young man.

Vainglory gained 3 levels!
The young man moved slightly, repositioning himself so that he could see the old leather watch which was wrapped around his right wrist. "Huh?" he said to himself; it was still unclear as to whether or not he had noticed Darkaan. "Impossible." The teen glanced around, taking in his surroundings. He nodded from time to time. The exhausted Onix was returned to its pokeball before the boy finally seemed to see Darkaan.
"What are you doing here?" he asked, partially accusing, and partially as if he didn't really care for an answer one way or the other. He allowed his eyes to drift to another part of the hideout...those eyes...they bore a striking ressemblance to Jai's, green as a leaf, though these seemed to be overshadowed by something. The teen's hair was jet black, though it was impossible to say whether this was natural or dyed in the dim lighting of their enclosure.

"Uh..." Darkaan said. How could he describe her? He noticed the boys jet black hair, and he plucked a hair from his own head. Black. Ok. This is an incredibly dark environment.
"I was bought here by Officer Dai... Tyranitar Lady! That's what she was! A Satanic Tyranitar!" He said. Hoping that he'd understand.
"What are you doing down here? I just defeated a satanic onix and then you and your onix appeared from it." Darkaan said.
"This place doesn't make sense." He muttered, finally. The blokes appearance kind of spooked him. Especially his eyes. He was daring himself to ask a nagging question.

"Dai?" the boy asked. He pronounced it like the word die. Now that was a comforting thought. "Wait, you defeated an Onix before I arrived?" The teen glanced back at his watch. "So my clock's not messed up after all." He looked at Darkaan once more, scrutinizing his appearance. This boy had defeated him? It seemed unlikely, but he couldn't deny the time. "Dyl," he said, holding out his hand to shake, "And boy do I have questions to ask you." Now wasn't that a funny coincidence. The teen was smiling widely now, seeming incredibly optimistic despite their situation.

Darkaan was now really uncertain about this boy. After Officer Dai, what makes this weird out-of-place kid trustworthy. He was too friendly, too weird. His eyes spooked Darkaan and his black hair only made Darkaan's hairs at the back of his neck stand on end.
"Dai, Dyl. Three letters long... Questions... Dai was going to ask me questions... Dyl wants to ask questions..." Darkaan thought. He quickly raised his pokeball towards Dyl.
"Cooperate with me first... First lets get out of here. Second: lets fly back to Lecana and ask questions at the pokecentre there."

Dyl's smile instantly turned to frown when Darkaan mentioned the pokemon center. His voice was suddenly cold, and he wouldn't make eye-contact when he said, "No. Pokecentre isn't an option. We can have our discussion outside, or right here." He looked up. "Your choice." His hand was on a pokeball.

"Lets bring the conversation outside. This place creeps me out." Darkaan said cooly. "I'm sure we can come to understand this obscurity."
* * *
In a few minutes both Dyl and Darkaan were outside the odd stone structure in the grassy meadow. "So how did you end up here?"

Dyl just grinned. "Well, I should be asking you the very same thing since I've never seen the likes of you around here...or anywhere else for that matter."
The moon's glow made the teen's face look eerily pale, a stark contrast to the dark beast which he had appeared from.
"But I will answer your question anyways, in the quickest way, before anything else happens." The way he said it was weird, as if he were expecting something else to happen. "I come from Hoenn. Well, originally Kanto, but moved to Hoenn when I was nine. My dad was actually from Jhoto. But I suppose that's a tangent. Anyways, I am here because I can no longer be there. In Hoenn, that is." He nodded, as if this were a perfectly good explanation for his existance.

Darkaan had never heard of Hoenn and Kanto before. If they were real places, he'd be sure to hear of them down the track.
"OK. Um... I had an officer lead me hear from this route when my normal-looking arcanine turned into a satanic pokemon. Don't know why. Don't know what reason." Darkaan said. "Should we head back to civilisation, now? At the moment I'm a bit spooked to know that satanic pokemon are really out there to get me."

"Civilization?" the teen asked, though it was more of a statement than anything. "Unfortunately, for me, that is impossible. And, now that you know of our little hide out," Dyl looked back at the pile of stones which used to mark the enterance, "well, what's left of it, you may not leave as well. At least not for the time being. So, I suppose that you should get used to the out doors."

"Exzodus! Tek! Come out!" Darkaan yelled behind him. Darkaan's fearow and mantine appeared behind him. "My pokemon can take us back." Darkaan said, locking eyes with Dyl, almost threateningly.
"We're going back, then we can talk."

"No," Dyl said, surprisingly calm in the whole situation, "When I said that it was impossible, I didn't mean that it was really impossible, merely that it was impossible." Well, that sure made a lot of sense. "Now, put your pokemon back into their balls. We wouldn't want to start anything here, now would we?"

He didn't want conflict so he lowered his ball, but only to raise it again. It's better to be safe then not. Who was this boy who dare threatened him after he just saved his life?
Darkaan tapped Vain-Glory's ball five times. A signal was given to Vain-Glory.
