Dyl either didn't notice the signal, or didn't feel like reacting. "Now that's better," the teen said. He didn't really pronounce the second "t" in "that's" so it sounded more like "thas" when he said it. Once again, he seemed overly relaxed, as if the near start of a fight hadn't phased ((fazed?)) him a bit. "Well, we could be here a while, so I guess that it's best that we know a few things about eachother." Without giving Darkaan a chance to respond, Dyl continued, "Lessee, I already told you about where I've been, and that's really all there is to it. I-" he stopped midway through sentence. "You have a brother or something? Oh wait, I said that I'd tell you about me first. I dunno." He shrugged. "What do you want to know? You said that you had questions, didn't you?"

Darkaan pat Pyro on the head. "Pyro should be fine out! He's harmless." The name 'Pyro' was starting to erk Darkaan. It needed to be a more challenging name for his ickle larvitar who was looking at Dyl pathetically. Darkaan returned Nimbus, Marco and Thundigar.
"How did you end up down in that... lair... and why don't you want to go back to the closest human settlement? Did you know Officer Jai?" Darkaan asked the questions kind of rushed.

Dyl began to answer, passively looking around as one might on a nice day on the beach or such, "I ended up in the lair by walk-" he began, then suddenly stopped as if he were registering the rest of Darkaan's questions. "Jai? How do you know Jai?" He was looking right at Darkaan now. Ah, a mere slip of the tongue had brought them into a completely different conversation.

"Huh?" Darkaan said confused. "I didn't bring up Dai, I mean Dai, I meant Dai, ugh, Jai, Dai, Jai, Dai..." He trailed off confused.
"I'm good friends with her. In fact, I got her details on my pokenav right now. We can talk to her and see if you can meet up with her?"
ooc: I'd like to see you roleplay with those teo interacting, lol!

ooc|| Teo? Hehehe... Yeh. You'd like that now, wouldn't you?
bic||
"Perhaps..." he trailed off, moving his mouth as if he were muttering to himself, but not saying a thing. He looked back at Darkaan. "But it's best if she stays away from-" he glanced back at the hideout, "Away from these parts. Perhaps we can find a neutral place to meet- during the day that is. During the day. Yes, that's very important." Dyl seemed to be figuring things out as he went along. "Very important indeed."

"How about we sleep outside Dayea Hill's entrance back on the main route road? We can talk to Jai on my pokegear their. I have her details." Darkaan suggested. He quickly turned his back, eager to get out of the place. Darkaan suddenly got the shivers as though someone was glaring at him menacingly from somewhere in the shrubbery- but that just helped him boost along the main road, Dyl hopefully following behind him.

They both finally hit the main road after about half an hours walk. Darkaan kept his thoughts to himself as they headed towards the towering hill, the route road disappearing into it's large, gaping, cave mouth. The darkness made the place look cosy. Darkaan was up ahead. He decided he'd quickly give Jai a call before Dyl spoke with her... ... ...
She answered on the other end. She was on Route 2... Singing could be heard in the background... She knew Dyl... But she sounded busy... So he politely hung up.
Darkaan released his larvitar, Thundigar and Nimbus from their pokeballs. "Please collect some firewood for the night. I have business here!" Darkaan then released his acrobatic magmar, Marco who cart-wheeled on out of the ball. "When they get back, can you start the fire. I'll have dinner prepared soon for you all when you get back." When they ran off, Marco walking beside Darkaan, he turned towards Dyl as they now stopped outside the mouth of the cave. He sat down off the route looking up at him. "Ok. We're here! How about we call Jai in the morning?"

The long walk didn't seem to bother the boy. It wasn't until they made it onto the main route that he began to look a little worried. Dyl kept on glancing back and forth, even though he and Darkaan were the only ones there. He touched pokeballs absent-mindedly, automatically strategizing, or maybe just making sure that they were still there.
When they finally reached the cave, Dyl nodded, taking in its pressence. "Wha-?" he responded automatically, "Oh yeah, that sounds like a great idea." He looked around, then noticed that Darkaan had released a few pokemon. Dyl shrugged, then threw out a pokeball of his own. After all, there wasn't much chance of a transformation happening twice in one night.
A Charmeleon appeared from the orb. The pokemon shook her head violently, as if to shake something off, before staring up at her trainer and the other boy. She gave Dyl a funny look, questioning him abou Darkaan with her eyes.
"Go help his pokemon," Dyl said, waving his hand in the general direction.

Pyro came back with kindling. Thundigar came back with some solid timber and a log. Darkaan packed it on. Marco shot a blast of flame at the wood. Fire blazed before their eyes and darkaan pulled out six containers with pokepellets in them. He put them close to the fire to warm up his pokemon's meals. He pulled out some bread from his bag and grabbed two sticks from Marco's pile. He shoved the bread on the ends.
"Want some?" Darkaan asked handing a breadstick to Dyl. Darkaan heated his bread over the fire and he petted Marco. Thundigar and Nimbus returned from collecting more wood and added to the substantial pile that they had gathered. Fearow flew up to the tree and fell asleep in it's branches. Darkaan lay his head against Marcos' warm belly. Marco quacked nonsense peacefully in a kind of purring way, look up at the stars. Thundigar did the same. As Darkaan, Thundigar and Magmar lay with eachother happily, Darkaan pulled out Balthazar's luxury ball and looked at Dyl.
"You know. I have a satanic Arcanine in this luxury ball." He wanted to see Dyl's reaction. Satanic pokemon seemed to be what the day was about. Darkaan was much more relaxed with his pokemon right beside him, the fire going, the peaceful night sky revealing it's gems in the sky. He smiled at Dyl. Sure Dyl was odd but Darkaan was confident he could tolerate anyone he met.

ooc|| Marco...so weird to read this. I keep imagining a blond-haired twelve-year-old in place of the magmar.
bic|| Dyl took the breadstick and ate it, not questioning whether it would be safe to eat until after it was half gone. By then it was too late, so he didn't bother asking any questions. If the other teen had poisoned him, there was nothing he could do about it. He finished off the breadstick despite such thoughts. After all, he was hungry.
The Charmeleon came back, empty-handed.
"Where ya been Cherry?" Dyl asked, but the Charmeleon had this look in her eyes, one which did not match her trainer's casual one. Her eyes were hard to read- fear? Anger? Worry? Distrust? The pokemon said nothing, instead choosing to stand by her trainer. The Charmeleon glared at Darkaan. A dull rock was around her neck, attached to some sort of string- an everstone?
"Satanic pokemon?" Dyl asked, then nodded. He didn't seem to care much for Darkaan's choice of conversation until a moment later when he seemed to realize something. "How would you define Satanic?"

Ooc: I had the name Marco before you did. Darkaan got up and pulled the containers away from the fire. "Dinner's ready!" Thundigar, Marco and Exzodus came and collected a plate each. Darkaan released Vain-Glory. He poured the container's contents into his open mouth. He pulled his hand back as he tried to take his hand. Pyro was eating quietly near the fire. He eyed Balthazar's pokeball. His satanic arcanine. "Pyro be ready!" Darkaan said. "Get ready to fight Balthazar if he's not willing to cooperate!" Pyro got up from his meal and embraced itself waiting for Darkaan to release the horror. Darkaan aimed his pokeball outside the camp. "3... 2... 1... Go!!!" The arcanine came out of the ball...

A normal looking arcanine looked happily down at Darkaan. It bounded towards him. "Stop! Stand back! Don't come closer!" Darkaan shouted. Balthazar looked hurt. "No! Are- Are you normal now?" Balthazar threw a confused glance at Darkaan. "Will you ever say anything?" He shook his head 'no'. "Will you explain to me what you did back there?" <Do what back there?> Darkaan was stunned. This was the first time Balthazar had ever spoken to him. Breakthrough!
"You turned satanic! You went into a rampage of destruction destroying forest and hurting pokemon!" Balthazar looked horrified! <I would never do such a thin-> "I saw you! Don't lie to me!" <I honestly can't recall doing such an abonimable thing! What makes you think I will do such a thing?> Darkaan was silent. He saw a dark flame move across his acranine's eyes. He thought about telling Balthazar where he came from. How the satanic salamence gave Darkaan Balthazar as an egg.
"I'm sorry Balthazar. May I just make a request?" <Sure, Darkaan!> "Control your anger! Control your thoughts and temper. I don't think you know what you become when you lose it." <Now that you mention it, I remember feeling really hateful and spiteful today and I don't know why... OK. Control bad emotions. Cool! No worries!> Darkaan embraced his arcanine and hugged his mane. "Sit with us by the fire and have something to eat." <Don't mind if I do!>
Darkaan sat down by side his pokemon again. Pyro went up and sat on Balthazar's head, talking about what Balthazar had turned into and what he had done. Balthazar looked disturbed and shocked that he would do such a thing. As they talked, Darkaan just stared at Dyl. Dyl really saw his Satanic Arcanine . "So yeah. That was my satanic arcanine." Fearow had finished his meal and flew back up to the tree. Marco and Thundigar were talking about busking together in the next town. Vain-Glory wrapped his vine around a tree and sleapt hanging.

ooc|| Yesh...perhaps I shall have to give my charrie a shorter nickname... His is too long when the others on this forum only have three letters... How about Mar? Kind of like the planet, minus the "s" for ease of typing.
bic||
Dyl grinned when Darkaan began to converse with his pokemon. It seemed rather funny after the day's events. And the look on the Arcanine's face was priceless. Sheer confusion. Dyl had this thing for chaos, or "organized chaos" as he called it. While some trainers prefered to have everything under complete control, Dyl enjoyed the challenge of confusion. After all, if he didn't know what he was doing, there was no way his opponent could predict it.
"Um, right," Dyl said, nodding. He didn't know whether or not to believe the boy. Up 'til now, Darkaan hadn't given him any reason to doubt, but Dyl had come into contact with far more than his share of crazy people. Then, he looked at the docile Arcanine. "Looks real mean to me," he said, now joking, "How'd you get 'im so angry? Put him up against a bunch of Chanseys and Jigglypuffs?" The boy laughed hard, finding his jokes far more funny than they really were. His Charmeleon gave him a wary look. She blew a small flame in Dyl's direction, almost torching his face. The teen seemed to get the message and stopped, ready to move on to conversation.

"Trainer?" Dyl asked. He shrugged. "Sorta. I got a few badges in a different league, of course, being me, I got sidetracked...never really got back into collecting 'em. Heck, I don't think I could find the ones I had if I wanted to. Now I'm more of a-" he paused, trying to figure out a good way to put it, "A freelance trainer." The Charmeleon rolled her eyes and blew another flame in Dyl's directiong. Trainer, yeah right. The last time she had checked, being a trainer involved training. "Cherry!" Dyl yelled, annoyed.
<Sorry,> the pokemon said, not the least bit repentive. Then, she looked at Darkaan and the other pokemon around. <What he's trying to say, is that he's far to lazy to be classified as a trainer.>
"I trained you all right," Dyl said, pretending to be hurt.
Cherry blew another small flame in his direction, <I wasn't trying to offend you.> Then, she continued to talk to Darkaan. <I'm not saying he's a bad trainer,> she shot a look at Dyl, <In fact, someone once told him that he was a gifted trainer...they should have kept their mouth shut, Dyl's egos bad enough as it is. Sure, he's not that bad, after all, he is still alive here. But I could probably take most of the blame for that.> The Charmeleon grinned, assuming that she had won this battle of the wits.
ooc|| Mao? Yesh...Marco is /deffinately/ the absolute ruler type.

Darkaan yawned. He didn' mean to be rude. It felt late.
He talked to Dyl about Jai and his adventures in the past. Occasionally Marco, Pyro and Thundigar would fill in some details. Dyl and Darkaan both talked on into to the night.
- - - -
The following morning, the fire smouldered in the morning dew. It looked as though Darkaan's fearow was sleeping on Balthazar. That can't be right! Darkaan rolled over and looked to the tall tree's and saw Nimbus sleeping in it's branches. He got up groggily, the morning sun coming just coming over the horizon. Well Balthazar definitely had feathers. He definitely had wings but they were more beautiful and better plumaged then Nimbus'! Darkaan amazed, awoke Marco, Thundigar, Pyro, Nimbus, Dyl and Cherry. "Hey guys! Check out Balthazar! He's got wings!!!" Darkaan whispered nervously but excitedly. A look of amazement and confusion was upon his face.
"Dyl! CHeck this out!

Dyl yawned, looked at his arm, as if he were checking a watch (though his watch was on his other arm, so he was just looking at skin.) He nodded, then looked up at where Darkaan was pointing. A flying Arcanine? Dyl rubbed his eyes then looked again. It was possible that such a large pokemon could have jumped so high, but as he looked closer, he could see that the pokemon did indeed have wings. How peculiar. This could be important. The teen reached into his pant pocket and pulled out a little black object, no bigger than the crystal of a watch, and pointed it at the Arcanine. He pinched the box-like thing, and a small, but strong white light flashed. Then, Dyl returned the thing back to his pocket and got up. His Charmeleon followed.
<What the frick?> Cherry was the first one to speak.
"Don't be so stunned, it's just a winged Arcanine," Dyl said, shrugging. But the gleam in his eyes told a different story than his mouth.

There was no way Darkaan was ever going to understand Dyl, so he smiled at Dyl as though he was his best friend. He watched Dyl take a photo and hear his charmeleon curse.
"Is that a camera? Where did you get it from and how much was it? I so need one!" Darkaan suddenly imagined a photo shoot of his to be tyranitar on the slopes of Bicycle Road posing with in the mountainous terrains... Photoshoot of Marco in the middle of one of his acrobatic stunts on Firey Path. Exzodus' feathers catching the afternoon light, showing off his wondeful plumage. Photo evidence of his Satanic, Normal and Ange-... THATS IT!!!
"I have a Satanic, slash, Angelic Arcanine!"

Cherry, annoyed by her trainer, humphed and sat down by the ghostly fire. The fire was out and a thin trail of smoke seemed to disappear into the morning mist.
"I got this camera from Kantex Central's Megamall. And yes, it seems you do have a satanic-angelic-normal-arcanine." Dyl said, rolling his eyes.
"I might just get your details in your pokenav and be on my way then..." Dyl said. He clearly wasn't clicking with this trainer. He looked at Cherry. Cherry felt his eyes and pouted by the ashes.

Dyl hit his details into Darkaan's pokenav. He then instantly regretted doing it. What if Darkaan was one of those trainers that call and call and call...
"C'mon Cherry, we're going!" <What the frick? Can't you be normal and travel with other trainers?>
"C'mon Cherry!" Cherry grumbled and got up and walked off with Dyl. <See'ya Darkaan. Nice to meet you and your gang!>
Darkaan was left with his pokemon.

"I think we should fly back to Lecana Village and freshen up! I wouldn't mind if we all trained a bit before we hit the caves!"
His pokemon nodded. Marco shivered as he looked into the gaping mouth of the cavemine of Dayea Hill.
Darkaan returned his pokemon, hopped on Exzodus and flew back to Lecana.
